Why I did a Tough Mudder on one leg 🦿
That was painful after the Tough Mudder 😂.

No s**t Sherlock.
Life is going to be harder as an amputee.
Not for everything; parking is a bloody joy.
Also (and I know I bang on about this), getting a beer at a festival is bloody glorious - no queue!
Exercise definitely falls into that camp of life being more challenging.
But there’s nuance.
Yes, it’s a bit harder, but it’s not SO difficult that you can’t do it.
Some parts of it are fine, some require a little change and other parts require more thought.
But here’s what you should think about…
What choice do you have?
What alternative is there if you want to move better, feel better and live a more enjoyable and fulfilling life?
There isn’t one.
I know it’s more difficult.
I’ve been there. I’m still there, and most importantly, I know how to navigate it.
If you want some daily advice on how to not only manage exercise as an amputee but get the most out of it, DM me 🦿. I’ll even send you a short video to get you started.

It’s just what you need…
Even when you haven’t had any phantom pain for weeks, it can pop up at the worst time.
Exercise is usually when I’m safe from it.
It usually keeps my brain distracted, so it doesn’t go into a panic that one leg has fu**ed off for the foreseeable.
It can feel like yet another barrier to getting fit.
Like exercise isn’t hard enough with one less limb.
So what should you do?
In most cases, it will pass and you can continue.
Other times, simple changing to a new exercise can help - I have no idea why, but it can work.
And in some cases, that’s you done…phantom pain is no joke.
Crucially, whatever you do, don’t let this put you off.
Some days are a bit more of battle, that’s just where you need make adjustments.
