Swim:ED pupils have been learning the RLSS UK Be a Mate message: speak up if a friend is about to take a risk near water.
You could say:
🗣 “Let’s stay together.”
🗣 “That doesn’t look safe.”
🗣 “Let’s get help.”
🗣 “Don’t go in.”
And remember: in an emergency, call 999.

Whether you’re at the pool, beach, river, lake or canal, it’s always safer to stay with your group, keep an eye on each other and get help quickly if something doesn’t feel right.
And if you ever get into trouble in the water, remember to float and call for help.
