Our Lions fall short in the finals after a tight contest in the first game of the day and an injury ravaged squad couldn't seal a 3rd place finish. But even in defeat a shining light appears with many of the younger and inexperienced players stepping up and showing the heart of a Lion in the second game, taking every opportunity given to them to help improve. Tyler, Xavier and Callum (among others) stepped up and left everything on the field regardless off the final score

The Lions under 16s travel to Stafford on Saturday to compete for the National Plate. Head Coach Andy Batha had this to say about reaching the finals "First season together to get to the plate is a fantastic achievement, the lads have grafted in all departments all year and really pushed themselves to new levels. All that is left now is to go out there and perform!"

2 strong performances from the under 16s in Manchester today see them go 1-1 in the playoffs and secure a spot in the National Plate at the end of August

Offensive MVP Troy was causing problems for teams all afternoon, scoring multiple touchdowns and even helping out in defence when needed

Defensive MVP Harry shown his experience on defense with multiple tackles, big hits and plenty of pancake blocks when he was needed on offense

Playoffs are coming! The under 16s travel to Manchester next weekend to take on East Kilbride Pirates and Manchester Titans to secure a place in the finals

The Lions 2026 regular season is finished up. Before we get too excited about the playoffs lets take a look at how each age group did this season.

Under 11s with a great year, narrowly missing the playoffs but scoring in 8 of there 9 games is definitely something to be proud of

The under 14s played a total of 22 league over the 2 teams, with our black squad taking the division title and a trip to the playoffs

Under 16s are the final team standing for the Lions, finishing as Midlands champions and punching there ticket to Manchester next weekend

Our under 19s finished with a 3-3 record and a 2nd place finish in a tough Midlands division

Over all age groups the Lions went 22-19-1 scoring 1233 points (approximately 176 touchdowns) in league play

They’ve been perfect all season.
We’ve been relentless for three straight wins.

Two teams. Two streaks. One survives.

The final regular season game sees our under 16s finish the year 7-1 on the season and Midlands Champions. Some great performances all round, with Troy and Harry taking Offensive and Defensive MVP on the day. They now have 1 week off before travelling to Manchester for some playoff football
