🏏 RESULTS | WEEK 1️⃣9️⃣

It was a case of our old guard rolling back the years on Saturday with runs & wickets, whilst young gun Ben Wilson took it upon himself to get the 3rd XI over the year with a fantastic all-round performance.

Can you guess the Old Boys ? 👀

🧢 A massive good luck to one of our juniors, Rishi, who captains the 4th XI for the first time this weekend. We pride ourselves on creating a sustainable pathway into senior cricket for our junior players at Kings Heath and this is great opportunity for Rishi to showcase his leadership skills by taking on an important responsibility within the club. After a little bit of digging we also believe that Rishi will be the youngest player to captain a senior side in the clubs history and we have no doubt he will do a great job. Good luck to Rishi and the whole 4th team today!

A bit late sharing results this week as the 2nd XI recover from a heartbreaking 1 run defeat. Brilliant skill and fight shown across the club last weekend. We keep fighting for every point!

It’s been a cracking few weeks for our Sunday captain Blake Quddus, steering the side towards a promotion push following some fantastic results in the Arden League. The team have won 8 of their 11 games and sit just behind league leaders Bablake at the top of the table. With a winner takes all clash to come in 2 weeks time it could be a fantastic end to the season for Blake’s Sunday Army.

On a personal note he’s been going through a serious purple patch on both Saturday and Sundays. Picking up 14 wickets in 6 games including his maiden 2nd XI 5 wicket haul against table topping Lyndworth! Not stopping there he also recorded his first half century of the season in a comprehensive Sunday win against Spartans, his knock included no less than 3 sixes. Brilliant work from Blake who is improving every season 👏🏼

Such sad news. He was a great friend of the club, a former player and, most importantly, a brilliant dad who was always there supporting his children and their cricket.

Our thoughts are with his family and children at this incredibly difficult time ❤️🏏

It is with immense sadness that Birmingham Moseley shares the news that Javan Bramhall passed away peacefully last week, with his family around him. Our thoughts are with Claire, his children, and all of Jav’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Jav had faced health challenges over the past year or so, and through all of it he remained the same person the Club knew and loved - positive, warm, and still thinking about the M&J section and the people in it rather than himself. That says everything about the man he was.

Jav was Chairman of the Club’s Mini and Junior section, and it’s hard to put into words what he meant to it. He never treated the M&Js as something that ran alongside the Club, to him, it was the foundation the whole Club stood on. He held the section, and himself, to a high standard: well organised, well coached, and open to any child who wanted to play. He was there most weekends, giving it years of his time, always thinking about where it needed to be in five years, not five weeks. The section grew enormously under his chairmanship, and it grew properly, on foundations built to last.

But the real measure of what Jav did isn’t in the numbers. It’s in the Sunday mornings: kids turning up to play rugby at Moseley because somebody had made sure there was a team for them, a coach ready to run the session, a fixture in the diary. A whole generation of Moseley players has come through the section on his watch and so many of them, and their parents, knew Jav well and will miss him.

It was no surprise that Jav was named the Club’s Clubman of the Year for 2025/26 - recognition for exactly this kind of work, done quietly and consistently for years.

Away from the Club, Jav founded and ran Digital Glue in Birmingham. He was a proud father to his two children and a loving husband to Claire.

The best tribute we can pay Jav is to look after the section he built with such care. That’s what we intend to do.

The family have asked for no flowers. Donations in his memory can be made to the Ruth Strauss Foundation.

6️⃣7️⃣ runs and a first half century of the season for George McKeever during the 1st XI’s victory over Solihull Muncipal last weekend. His runs proved crucial as the side won by 22 runs in what was a competitive affair in the first meeting of these sides this season. George’s runs came off 77 ball including 12x 4s and 1x 6 and he was ably supported by Sharpey (36) and Adil (31) as they posted 215 all out. George also had a hand in the final moments of the match as he partnered up with Baz to complete the run out to take us to victory. Great work!
