The Firsts welcome FC Kayi in the opening round of their Lord Jersey Cup defence.

After a frustrating opening-day draw against Longford Park, the side will be looking for a response and a place in the next round in their first cup fixture of the season.

Time to get the cup campaign underway.

The squad travels in good spirits, with several key players returning this week as the team looks to build on a positive opening two weeks and continue their progress in their first season.

⚽NEWLY FORMED DEVS START ON A POSITIVE ⚽

What a start to the season for Kea Development! With our opening two fixtures both on the road, we've kicked things off with an unbeaten run—showing immense character and attitude by coming from behind in both games to secure vital points!

Considering this incredible group of lads has only really been together for about two months, the chemistry and togetherness are unreal. There are some seriously positive signs of a healthy, nurturing environment helping shape what we hope is a very successful future for Kea as a collective. 💪🔥

A special mention goes out to our father-son duo, Daniel "Smudger" Smith and his son Samuel Smith! They carry on the proud tradition of our core value as a true family club—extending all the way from the friendly and hospitable environment of our social club right through to our various sports teams. Kea is a family club through and through. 🔵⚪

OPENING DAY DRAW FOR THE FIRSTS|🔵⚪

Points shared on opening day for the first team after a hard-fought 1-1 draw! ⚽

It was a challenging start to the campaign falling behind in the match, but the team showed fantastic character and determination to come back into the game.

During the course of the 90 Longford were reduced to 10 men. Kea kept pushing, and Dan Monk stepped up brilliantly to fire home the equaliser.

From that point on, we applied relentless pressure against their 10 men, dominating the flow of the game. Unfortunately, despite all of our efforts, we just couldn't quite find that winning goal to unlock their defence for a second time.

There are plenty of positive signs to take away and so much fight shown across the squad. We go again next week! 💪🔥

💙⚪️ 3️⃣ POINTS SECURED FOR THE DEVS!⚽️

A great result for the lads as we came from behind to claim our first league win of the campaign, beating Bearley 3–1. With Sean Paris leading the team to a massive 3 points 👏

It wasn’t the start we wanted, with Bearley taking an early lead after we struggled to settle into the game and adapt to the pitch. Credit to them, they deserved their advantage, but the lads gradually grew into the game.

Just before half-time, Smudger did well to hold the ball up before finding Lewis Barber, who made no mistake with the finish to bring us level. 1–1! 💪

The second half saw us create some good opportunities, but the turning point came when Luke Surman produced an outstanding moment, finding the back of the net directly from a free-kick inside our own half! 🚀 2–1 Kea!

With the momentum now firmly with us, we started to find our rhythm. A fantastic ball from Riley Tingey picked out Lewis coles who rose highest to head home our third and secure the win. 🎯

⭐ MAN OF THE MATCH – RILEY TINGEY

A superb debut from Riley, who was composed and assured throughout. His performance was recognised by his teammates, who unanimously voted him Man of the Match. A thoroughly deserved award. 👏

A strong second-half response, three points on the board and plenty of positives to take forward.

Matchday is round the corner and both our squads are locked in and ready for action this Saturday!⚽

The First Team |🔵⚪

Our firsts kick off their league campaign at home against Longford Park A, looking to plant an early marker in the division and grab a crucial 3 points to start the season right. Let’s get behind the lads from the first whistle!

The Development Squad |🔵⚪

Following a hard-fought opening-day draw last week, our development side hit the road for a tough away trip to Bearley FC as they hunt for their first win of the campaign.

In the absence of club captain Alfie, Sean Paris takes the armband and steps up to lead the side following a massive standout performance last week.

KEA Sports & Social Club will be open and fully stocked throughout the firsts' game Saturday. offering a fantastic matchday atmosphere and brilliantly priced drinks. As our local social club, they are a massive part of our community and always look after us, so make sure to head inside before, during, or after the match to grab a pint, catch up with fellow supporters, and show them some well-deserved support.

Kea Development 2–2 Swis 313 Reserves

A tough opening fixture away from home for the Development side saw the points shared in an entertaining 2–2 draw.

Kea started on the front foot, dominating possession and looking strong at the back. The opener came after 15 minutes when Sean Paris rose highest to power home a header from a superb Samuel Smith delivery.

A forced change due to a niggle disrupted our rhythm, and we lost our way for a spell, conceding two goals before the break.

The response in the second half was excellent. Kea created chance after chance and eventually got the reward around the 75th minute, with Dan Sweeney producing a bullet header from Lewis Coles’ pinpoint corner.

We pushed for a winner late on and created further opportunities, but it finished all square. On reflection, a fair result for both sides.
