Amigos Belfast 2nd XI delivered a commanding all-round performance in this 30-over NCU Junior League 9 fixture, defeating CSNI 5th XI by 123 runs after producing an exceptional display with both bat and ball.

After being asked to bat first, Amigos made full use of the 30 overs, posting an imposing 278/7. The innings got off to a positive start with Subhilesh PS and Ajmal JS scoring quickfire 23s, providing the perfect platform. Captain Jestin KR anchored the middle overs with a composed 33, while Akash Vega added a valuable 25 to keep the scoreboard moving.

The game truly came alive when JK Joy arrived at the crease. In one of the finest innings of the season, he unleashed an incredible 119 from just 43 deliveries*, smashing 8 boundaries and 11 sixes at a remarkable strike rate of over 276. His explosive knock completely shifted the momentum in Amigos’ favour, taking the total well beyond the reach of the opposition. Late contributions from Jacob Johnson (14) and Aswin Prasannan (7) ensured Amigos finished their allotted 30 overs on a formidable 278/7.

Facing a challenging target of 279 from 30 overs, CSNI 5th XI struggled to build partnerships against a disciplined Amigos bowling attack. Every bowler contributed by maintaining pressure and picking up wickets at regular intervals.

The standout performer with the ball was once again JK Joy, who completed a sensational all-round performance by claiming 4 wickets for just 25 runs from his 6-over spell. His accuracy and control dismantled the opposition’s batting line-up.

He received excellent support from Nikhil Thankachan, who claimed 2 wickets, while Captain Jestin KR also picked up 2 wickets. Aswin Prasannan and Ajmal JS added a wicket each, ensuring there was no recovery for CSNI.

The opposition were eventually bowled out for 155, handing Amigos Belfast 2nd XI a comprehensive 123-run victory in a thoroughly dominant performance.
