☀️ Annual Summer Closure Reminder ☀️

Just a reminder that all of our regular gymnastics classes are now taking a break for the next two weeks as part of our annual summer closure.

🎉 Don’t forget – our popular Summer Holiday Camps will continue to run throughout the closure, so there’s still plenty of opportunities to keep active, have fun, and enjoy gymnastics over the holidays!

We’d like to thank all of our members, families, coaches, and volunteers for another fantastic year so far. We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned summer break, whether you’re heading off on holiday or making the most of the sunshine closer to home. 🌞

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to their regular classes from Monday 17th August, refreshed and ready for another exciting term of gymnastics! 🤸💙

Have a wonderful summer, stay safe, and don’t forget to send us any photos or videos of your gymnastics adventures whilst you’re away—we’d love to feature them on our social media! 📸🌍

📣 Move of the Week is taking a short summer break! ☀️🤸

With many of our gymnasts enjoying a well-earned summer holiday, we’re pressing pause on our Move of the Week series for a few weeks.

Instead, we’ll be sharing some of the key skills we’ve been working on in the gym that you might like to practise at home or whilst you’re away. It’s a great way to keep moving, build confidence, and stay gymnastics-ready for when we return! 💪

⚠️ A quick safety reminder: If you’re practising gymnastics at home, in the garden, or even on holiday, please make sure you:
✅ Have appropriate adult supervision.
✅ Use a safe, suitable space free from hazards.
✅ Only practise skills that are appropriate for your ability.

Please remember that Gymnastics Reborn cannot accept responsibility for any injuries sustained whilst practising away from our sessions.

📸 We’d absolutely LOVE to see what our gymnasts are getting up to over the summer! Whether you’re practising in the garden, on the beach, by the pool, or anywhere else around the world, send us your photos and videos. We’ll be sharing as many as we can across our social media throughout the holidays! 🌍❤️

Have a fantastic summer, stay safe, and keep those gymnastics skills ticking over! 🤸☀️

📢 A reminder for all our families! 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️

We are OPEN AS USUAL throughout the school holidays! 🎉

The only exception is our annual summer closure, when both our Bedford and Pulloxhill Centres will be closed from Monday 3rd August to Sunday 16th August.

☀️ Please note that our Summer Camps will still run throughout this closure period, so there will be plenty of gymnastics fun available for those wanting to keep active during the holidays!

📅 To help everyone plan ahead, all of our planned closure dates through to the end of 2027 are pinned on our Instagram and are also displayed on the noticeboards at both the Bedford and Pulloxhill Centres.

We hope this makes it easier for families to plan holidays and other commitments around your gymnastics sessions. 😊

💪 MOVE OF THE WEEK – INVERTED HANG ON RINGS 💪

This week’s Move of the Week is the Inverted Hang on Rings, and we’ll be focusing on this key shape in all of our sessions throughout the week.

⭐ Key points to remember:
🔹 Point your feet towards the top of the ring frame.
🔹 Keep your legs straight.
🔹 Keep your arms straight.
🔹 Look towards your feet with your head in a neutral position.

If you have access to rings at home and would like to practise, please make sure:
✅ You have appropriate adult supervision at all times.
✅ You are using equipment that is safely installed and suitable for gymnastics.
✅ You have a clear, safe space around you, free from hazards.

Your safety is our priority. Please only practise if it is safe to do so and under appropriate supervision. Gymnastics Reborn cannot accept responsibility for any injuries that occur while practising at home.

We can’t wait to see everyone working on their inverted hangs in the gym this week! 🤸

💥 Move of the Week – Pommel Back Support 💥

With all the excitement in the gym this week after three-time Olympic Champion Max Whitlock using our pommel and trampette, we’re revisiting one of the key foundation shapes for pommel work – the Back Support.

✅ Look towards your toes
✅ Try to get your big toes to touch the floor
✅ Lift your hips as high as possible
✅ Keep your legs straight and toes pointed
✅ Keep your arms straight throughout

This simple shape helps build the strength, flexibility and body position needed for great pommel work.

⚠️ If you’re practising at home, please make sure you have a clear, safe space and appropriate adult supervision. Gymnastics Reborn cannot accept responsibility for any injuries sustained whilst practising at home.

📸 Don’t forget to tag us in your attempts – we’d love to see what you’re getting up to at home! 💙🤸

🤩 A little piece of history has arrived at Gymnastics Reborn! 🤩

Last week, some of you may have noticed that a few pieces of equipment mysteriously disappeared from the gym for the day… 👀
Well, we can now reveal why!

Our pommel horse, trampette and some of our mats were borrowed for a photoshoot featuring three-time Olympic Champion Max Whitlock ahead of the Commonwealth Games. 🥇🥇🥇

Even better, before the equipment was returned, Max very kindly signed both the pommel horse and trampette for our gymnasts to enjoy for years to come! ✍️🤸‍♂️

A huge thank you to Max, PMG and Geely for making this incredible opportunity possible.

📸 Check out the photos of Max signing the equipment and then see if you can spot the signed items next time you’re in the gym!

How many clubs can say they have equipment signed by an Olympic Champion? 😍

🤸‍♀️ MOVE OF THE WEEK 🤸‍♂️

This week’s Move of the Week is the Hip Flexor – a fantastic conditioning exercise that helps develop the strength needed for skills such as levers, press to handstands, and many other gymnastics elements.

💪 Key coaching points:
✅ Reach your hands forwards as far as you can
✅ Lean your chest forwards
✅ Keep your legs straight
✅ Point your toes
✅ Lift your feet off the floor
✅ Lower back down with control

Challenge yourself to repeat this process 10 times if you can!

Although it may look simple, this exercise is excellent for building core and hip flexor strength, both of which are essential for many gymnastics skills.

⚠️ If practising at home, please ensure you have a clear, safe space and appropriate adult supervision at all times. Gymnastics Reborn cannot accept responsibility for any injuries sustained whilst practising at home.

🏅🇬🇧 Over the weekend, our Director of Performance, Paul, was at Lilleshall National Sports Centre as a judge at the Adult British Championships.

It’s always fantastic to see our coaching and leadership team contributing to the sport at a national level, helping to support and develop gymnastics across the country.

A huge thank you to Paul for representing Gymnastics Reborn and giving up his time to support such an important event. 👏🤸‍♂️

🤸‍♀️ MOVE OF THE WEEK 🤸‍♂️

This week we’re focusing on one of the most important handstand preparations rather than a complete gymnastics skill!

A strong handstand starts with a strong shape, and this simple exercise can be practised lying on the floor at home.

✅ Slightly round your chest
✅ Squeeze your bottom tight
✅ Keep your legs straight and tight
✅ Point your toes
✅ Lift your hands slightly off the floor
✅ Look towards your hands and keep your head in
✅ Create one long, straight line from your fingertips to your toes

Although it may look simple, mastering this shape will make a huge difference to all of your handstands in the gym!

⚠️ If practising at home, please ensure you have a clear, safe space and appropriate adult supervision at all times. Gymnastics Reborn cannot accept responsibility for any injuries sustained whilst practising at home.

📸 Don’t forget to tag us in your attempts – we’d love to see how you’re getting on!
