What a great first session from all the boys… as you can tell they worked so so hard and showed amazing attitude and motivation 👍🏻 huge well done lads and I look forward to seeing you in 2wks 💪🏻

⚽️ A TOUGH MORNING IN BIGGAR ⚽️

It was a difficult morning for the boys as we travelled to Biggar Sports Centre for an early 9:30am kick-off against Clydesdale in our final Challenge Cup group game.

The boys started strongly and Kai found the net twice, with assists from Jai and Taylor, but Clydesdale brought a very physical game. There were some difficult moments and plenty of challenges on the pitch, and unfortunately the referees decisions didn’t always go our way.

We went into half-time 3–1 down, but the boys continued to battle. Clydesdale eventually pulled away in the second half, with the final score finishing 7–2.

👏 POTM: Sarid — chosen by the coaching team for a solid performance in defence. A well-deserved award!

Today brings an end to our Challenge Cup campaign. There are definitely lessons for us to take from the game, particularly about keeping our heads when the scoreline goes against us and continuing to work together as a team right until the final whistle.

The Whitburn Ambers put in another fantastic performance tonight in the Challenge Cup, coming away with a 6-4 win over Yett Farm White at KGV! ⚽️

It was a wet and miserable evening but the weather didn’t dampen the boys’ spirits! The Ambers played some brilliant football, with plenty of passing, movement and teamwork on show throughout the game.

The boys went into half-time 4-2 ahead and continued to work hard in the second half to secure a well-deserved 6-4 victory. 🙌

A special mention too for everyone who helped with our first ever Ambers tuck shop tonight! Despite the rain, it was a great success, bringing in an amazing £81 in sales!

⚽ FULL-TIME | POLBETH COLTS 5–3 WHITBURN AMBERS ⚽️

The Ambers kicked off their competitive season this morning in the CLYFA Challenge Cup against Polbeth Colts, and it was a fast-paced game from the very start!

Polbeth opened the scoring early, but the boys responded almost immediately, with Kai finding the net to make it 1–1. Polbeth then struck twice more in quick succession to take a 3–1 lead.

The boys didn’t let their heads drop though, and Kai grabbed his second of the game, with Alexander providing the assist, to bring us back to 3–2. We went into half-time with plenty still to play for.

The second half saw both teams continue to battle, with Polbeth adding another goal before the Ambers responded through Ollie, who had already been putting in a great shift in defence before moving out onto the wing. From there he was fantastic, bombing up and down the pitch and causing Polbeth problems. ⚽👏

Polbeth eventually added another to make it 5–3.

There were plenty of positives to take from the game despite the result. Ethan put in a solid midfield performance and was named Player of the Match by the referee ⭐. Tyler made some great saves, while Harris was solid as ever in defence.

There were also excellent contributions from Rhys, who came on and played some really good passes, Leland, who was fantastic in defence after coming on, and Alexander, who gave 100% effort throughout and never stopped chasing the ball.

A hard-fought opening game, plenty of lessons learned and lots to build on.
