⚽️ MATCH RESULT | BARTON UNITED LADIES 1–3 BRIGG TOWN LADIES ⚽️

Last night saw Barton United Ladies take on Brigg Town Ladies at our home ground in New Holland.

Barton knew from previous meetings that Brigg would be no easy opposition, especially with them sitting comfortably in the division above.

A very competitive first half throughout, with both teams creating plenty of goal-scoring opportunities and Barton unlucky not to convert. Brigg took a 1–0 lead just before the half time whistle blew.

Barton came out fighting in the second half after an encouraging team talk. Barton found the equaliser into the second half, making it 1–1 and turning it into a nail biting game.

With just 10 minutes to go, a formation change and Barton tiring, Brigg regained the lead before adding another goal just before the final whistle.

Despite the result, it was a fantastic display of football from both teams, and a performance Barton should be incredibly proud of.

A result like this really shows the progression we have made throughout pre-season, particularly our composure on the ball and our improvement in communication on the pitch, the hard work is paying off.

The season ahead is looking very, very exciting for us! 👀💙
