Spotlight 🌟A round of applause for our incredible ballet students who are shining brightly as they prepare for their ballet exams! 👏🩰

This week, we're celebrating the joy, dedication, and artistry they've brought to their exam syllabus.
We have focused how to use coordination , musicality and rhythm to improve the dynamic quality of movement .

it's been a joy watching each dancer bring their individuality to life from the barre to centre work and to their fast paced traditional folk dance -The Tarantella!

Their hard work, creativity, and growing
confidence are truly inspiring.🩰🧑‍🩰

Keep dancing with heart, Mabli, Maya and Maisie 💕

Instead of creeping behind the blackbird, on Saturday morning we were creeping behind the kingfisher! 🐦✨

Ella brought her beautiful kingfisher to class and, wow, what interest it caused! We had guesses of a parrot 🦜 and lots of wonderful ideas before discovering exactly what our feathered friend was!

A truly magical ballet class filled with imagination, movement and adventure. 🩰✨

Why not come and join us on a Saturday morning and be part of our magical dance adventures? 💕🩰

From our new parent & child performing arts class to our teens we enjoyed a wonderful Saturday full of dance, music,, friendship and connection 👯

A celebration of individuality makes the classes so special , we welcome, we share, we adapt, we learn and all the funny moments in between that appear from nowhere are so joyful 😀

With the teens we gathered around the table discussed and chose our new uniform , lovely to share ideas and thoughts altogether 💭

Well done to all our dancers for making Saturdays so special 🌟

✨ It’s all part of being in the Elevate Foundation class! ✨
Sometimes it’s the little things that make us smile… 😃
Before class even begins, our Elevate Foundation dancers have quietly taken it upon themselves to get the ballet barres ready — without being asked!
It has become such a natural part of their class routine that they simply know what needs to be done. 🩰

Yesterday , Rory decided to take things one step further and promoted himself to Supervisor! 😂👏
We love seeing our dancers becoming more independent and taking responsibility for their class. It might seem like a small thing, but these everyday moments help children develop confidence, teamwork, consideration for others and a sense of belonging.

Dance education is about so much more than the steps we learn in the class . It’s also about learning to work together, being responsible, respecting our surroundings and gradually becoming confident young people who are happy to contribute and of course, having a little fun along the way! 😀

Well done girls — and congratulations to Supervisor Rory! 👏😄

🩰 OUR HAS TAKEN US AROUND THE WORLD! ✈️✨
From North Devon to Paris, from Wookey Hole to Egypt and Spain, our dancers have certainly shown us that dance really can happen anywhere!
Over the summer we asked our dancers to take their dancing on holiday and share a pose from wherever their adventures took them…
And WOW! 🤩
We’ve had beautiful locations, amazing landmarks, sunshine, history, spectacular scenery — and some seriously super dance poses! 🩰✨
What I particularly love about these photographs is that each one has a story behind it. And some of the places our dancers visited have stories that go back hundreds, even thousands, of years.
🇫🇷 Did you know? Despite its name, Paris's Pont-Neuf is actually the oldest bridge in the city, with its first stone laid in 1578!
🇬🇧 Wookey Hole Caves have been shaped by water over millions of years — and were the scene of Britain's first successful cave dive in 1935!
🇬🇧 Clovelly in North Devon has been associated with just three families since the middle of the 13th century.
And then there are our dancers posing against the wonderful backdrop of Egypt, Spain and France… 🌍
Our has taken us from familiar places close to home to some truly incredible destinations — proving that you don't need a dance studio, a stage or even a dance floor to find somewhere to dance!
Sometimes all you need is a little space, a great view and a love of dance! ❤️🩰
Thank you to everyone who joined in and sent us your wonderful photographs.
Now let’s take a little journey around the world… one dance pose at a time! 🌎✨

Thursday Thought… ✨
Sometimes the most interesting conversations happen when we least expect them.

On Tuesday, while chatting with a mum in Sully about her twins, a little boy and girl who will be three in November, our conversation turned to dancing.🩰💃🕺

Their five-year-old sibling already comes to one of our classes, and the mum was telling me that her little boy seems to love dancing even more than his twin sister and his older sister (in photo) .
She shrugged her shoulders and said something that really stayed with me:
“But you never know, do you?” 💭

The mum then asked me if I knew of Marcelino Sambé, the Portuguese dancer who trained at The Royal Ballet School and became a Principal dancer with The Royal Ballet.
I knew the name, but I have to admit I didn't know his story in any great detail.

This mum, who is Portuguese herself, told me about his early life in Portugal and how his love of movement and dance was discovered when he was young and spent most of his early childhood in a Portuguese Community Centre and loved African dance and Hip Hop . He was encouraged by a community worker to explore dance further . She spoke with such enthusiasm about his journey from very humble beginnings ( living in poor conditions ) to becoming a Principal dancer with the Royal Ballet School 🩰

When I arrived home, I had to look him up! What an amazing story ✨
What I discovered was that Marcelino Sambre was the only second black male dancer after Carlos Acosta to become a Principal Dancer with the Royal Ballet .

The Royal Ballet School itself speaks about nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for children from a wide range of backgrounds, with admission based on talent and potential - and this is absolutely true 🩰

We really don't know where a child's first love of dance might lead.

Perhaps it will simply become something they enjoy throughout their childhood.

Perhaps it will give them confidence, friendships, creativity and memories that stay with them for life.

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, a teacher or someone else will notice something special and open a door they never knew existed . 🌟

You never know, do you?”

What a lovely Thursday Thought 💭

✨ A lovely milestone in a young dancer’s ballet journey ✨
Just over a year ago, this young lady walked into her very first ballet class, aged just 10 years old. 🩰
Fast forward to today and she has just been awarded her Level 3 in Ballet Theory and I couldn’t be more delighted to see her continuing to take the next steps in her ballet journey.🧑‍🩰

With the wonderful support of her parents, she will be preparing to start her ballet exam classes leading to take her first ballet examination — an exciting new chapter and a very special milestone for her. 🌟

When you see potential in a young dancer and watch them take those first steps forward, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing them progress, grow in confidence and, most importantly, develop a genuine love for what they do. 💕

Well done, — keep learning, keep growing and, above all, keep enjoying your dancing! 🩰 🧑‍🩰

It’s and the countdown to October ballet exams is officially on!

Sunday afternoon we sized up for our exam uniform and enjoyed the most lovely sunny afternoon refining our technique ensuring precision in placement, turn-out, and alignment.plus polishing musicality and overall performance quality .🧑‍🩰

We need to feel confident and dance from the heart on exam day and extra time was spent on our character ‘dance’ specific to the syllabus requirements 🩰

Always ensuring they learn and enjoy their classes in a warm and positive environment and reminding students, exams are a tool to build their resilience, discipline, and personal growth. So very proud of how hard they all work 💕
