We’re incredibly proud to have reached 2,000 followers on Facebook — but for us, this milestone represents far more than a number.

Over the last 2–3 years, an enormous amount of work has gone into moving Brynhill Golf Club forward — improving the course, investing in our facilities, growing our membership, developing our clubhouse and hospitality, supporting junior golf and building a club the wider community can be proud of.

There’s still plenty more we want to achieve, but we’re also proud of how far Brynhill has come.

📊 HOW TOUGH IS YOUR FAVOURITE HOLE AT BRYNHILL?⛳🌳

We’ve been digging into the numbers — and they make for some very interesting reading!

Using actual scoring data recorded at Brynhill from April to August, across all handicaps, we’ve ranked all 18 holes based on how many shots over par players are taking on average.

And there are definitely a few surprises… 👀

🏆 THE HARDEST HOLE AT BRYNHILL — HOLE 5

Our Stroke Index 1 lives up to its reputation.

The 5th is playing to an average score of 5.71 on the Par 4 — a massive +1.71 over par.

It narrowly beats the opening hole, which certainly isn't giving anyone a gentle start!

🥇 5th — Par 4 | Average 5.71 | +1.71
🥈 1st — Par 4 | Average 5.67 | +1.67
🥉 4th — Par 5 | Average 6.50 | +1.50
4️⃣ 17th — Par 4 | Average 5.40 | +1.40
5️⃣ 16th — Par 3 | Average 4.26 | +1.26

That means three of our five statistically toughest holes come in the final three holes or opening four holes — so getting off to a good start and finishing strongly really matters at Brynhill.

🌳 AND THE 'EASIEST' HOLE?

That honour goes to the 8th..

Our Par 4 8th is averaging 4.76, or +0.76 over par — making it statistically the least punishing hole on the course during the period analysed.

Interestingly, the 15th is next at +0.78, despite being a Par 5.

⛳ WHAT ABOUT THE BACK NINE?

There's no easy run home.

The 17th (+1.40) is the biggest danger, while the 16th (+1.26), 13th (+1.26), 14th (+1.24), 10th (+1.23) and 18th (+1.20) are all taking more than a shot over par from the average player.

So when you stand on the 10th tee with a good card in your hand… there's still plenty of golf to play! 😬
