Good view of the historic Newton Tracey house at the top. The ground is called “The Lawn” as in former times was the Lawn of the house, up until the 1960s, before being sold off.
The cricket club have played here since 1970

Today’s match v Holsworthy has fallen victim to the weather

Next Saturday is the title decider game at home to Nomansland. What needs to happen for us to overtake them and retain the Division 2 title? And have our 3rd trophy of the season?

We need to play and win and restrict Nomansland to 4 points or less.
Let’s look at some scenarios , we bat first get 200, they need to get less than 140 (70%of the score )
We bat second and as long as we win and lose no more than 4 wickets

Weather looks challenging this week though and if we don’t play , title hopes are over

Oli Symons today has become the 4th Newton player to reach his 1000 runs for the season. No more than 2 ever before. He hit the 92 needed today versus North Molton , and then moved on to his century before falling immediately after for exactly 100
He also reached 1000 runs in 2024 with exactly 1000 for the season

Well done Oli that’s 3 100s and 6 50s this season

Latest MVP, still showing Sumit Ghangas on top. Who can overtake him in the final 2 weeks? Only the North Devon League games will count and at the moment he isn’t down to play either of them

So what do we need to do to retain the Blights Motors North Devon League Division 2?
We have 2 games left , home to Holsworthy and our nearest contenders Nomansland.
We need to win both our games and for Nomansland to get no more than 7 points in defeat against us, that will make us champions once again

Congratulations to Bhavesh Patel who has reached his 1000 runs for the club this season today. The third Newton Tracey batsman to reach this milestone this season , which is unprecedented.he has hit one century and eight 50s
He says he only started playing serious cricket last year, and only ever played tennis ball cricket in India. So a remarkable achievement
