🏆 Doncaster Champions Series 2026 🏆
⚽️Tournament Report 🏆

After a short summer break, Junior Tykes FC White returned to action yesterday for the second edition of the Doncaster Champions Series 2026, as part of our preparations for the upcoming U8 season.

The boys came back hungry for football and started the tournament brilliantly with a 1-0 victory over Club Thorne Blues with Reuben finding the net.

The Whites continued their winning start with a 3-1 victory against Askern Royal with goals from Myles, Reuben and Arthur.

The third game saw another excellent performance, beating tournament hosts BDC Black 3-0. Reuben added two more goals, while Willow produced a fantastic moment with a brilliant lob over the goalkeeper to complete the scoring.

A 1-1 draw followed against Dunscroft, with Myles reacting quickest during a scramble in the box to put the ball into the net.

The next two games were frustrating. Despite creating plenty of opportunities and being the better side for long periods, we couldn’t convert our chances and suffered narrow defeats against Sandal Beat 1-2, with Reuben scoring and Club Thorne Yellows 0-1.

That left everything to play for in the final group game against Swillington. The boys handled the pressure brilliantly, securing a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Myles and Marley. The result secured 3rd place in the group and a place in the Champions League Play-Offs.

Throughout the group stage, the team remained solid and consistent defensively. Dominic produced several fantastic saves and showed great composure in goal, while Carson was excellent at the back, winning challenges, holding his position and showing confidence when playing the ball forward and switching play across the pitch.

The semi-final brought another meeting with Swillington. This time the game finished 0-0 after a very even contest, with both teams creating chances and showing plenty of character. The match went to penalties, where Dominic produced a spectacular save and the Whites eventually won 3-0 on penalties, booking their place in the final.

🏆 The Final

Club Thorne Yellows stood between the Whites and the trophy. The boys once again showed their quality, creating numerous chances and controlling large parts of the game. Goals from Myles and Reuben secured a fantastic 2-0 victory and another trophy for Junior Tykes FC White! 🏆

A huge congratulations to every player and to Willow, who has officially joined our squad and will begin gaining valuable experience competing alongside the boys in U8 football.

A special thank you to Lee and BDC for organising another fantastic tournament. We look forward to seeing you at the next one!

⚽️🏆 Hoyland Falcons Tournament 2026 Report 🏆⚽️

Yesterday, the boys took part in another competitive summer tournament and once again showed how much they have developed over the past year.

The day began perfectly with a confident 2-0 victory, carrying on the winning momentum from the previous tournament. Although the second match ended in defeat, the boys were the better side for large periods, with a number of controversial refereeing decisions making the task even more difficult.

The third game proved costly as a lapse in concentration allowed the opposition to take control. However, the team responded brilliantly. In the fourth match, they deserved all three points, but a highly controversial late equaliser was awarded after the referee had already blown for a foul, denying the boys a deserved victory.

The response in the final game summed up this team perfectly. Knowing they needed a result, the boys gave absolutely everything and secured a fantastic 1-0 win against the team that went on to top the group.

On another day, the boys could easily have finished first or second. Seven points saw them finish fourth in a very competitive group, just two points away from a place in the semi-finals. While qualification slipped away, the character, determination, and quality on display throughout the tournament showed just how far this team has come. Looking back to this time last year, when tournament victories were hard to come by, the improvement has been incredible.

🏆 Tournament Report 🏆

What a day for Junior Tykes FC White! Yesterday, the boys produced an outstanding performance to lift the trophy after an incredible tournament.

From the very first match, the team showed determination, confidence, and fantastic teamwork. Every player played their part, working tirelessly for one another and playing some excellent football throughout the day. The hard work and commitment shown in training over the past months were rewarded with a well-deserved tournament victory.

The attacking football was outstanding, but special praise must go to the defence. Dominic was excellent in goal throughout the tournament, while Carson and Frankie were immense at the back. Their organisation, composure, and determination helped the team concede just one goal in six matches, providing the perfect foundation for success.

The boys also overcame their recent semi-final disappointment in style, booking their place in the final before producing another dominant performance to lift the trophy.
