Comment ‘GROWTH’ to get involved 🤝
Introducing MenTribe Growth 🌱
A new six-week challenge built around one simple idea:
Choose something you want to change. Commit to it. And don’t do it alone.
Your challenge is yours.
Give up alcohol. Get fitter. Lose weight. Stop smoking. Sort your routine out. Read more. Get outside every day. Build your confidence. Finally start something you’ve been putting off.
Whatever it is, you choose it.
For our first ever cohort, we’re bringing together 10 men for six weeks. Every man will have his own challenge, but you’ll be doing it alongside a group who are there to keep each other accountable, celebrate the wins and pick each other up when things don’t go to plan.
This isn’t another group to join and silently watch from the sidelines.
You have to show up.
Not perfectly. Not without setbacks. But honestly, consistently and willing to support the other men doing the same.
COHORT 01
• 10 men
• 14 September – 25 October
• £40 for the full six weeks
Most MenTribe activities will continue to be completely free. Growth is different. It’s a small, structured programme, and the income it generates will also help us continue providing the free activities MenTribe already offers.
So here’s the question…
If you could change ONE thing about yourself over the next six weeks, what would it be?
Ready to do something about it?
Comment GROWTH below and we’ll send you the next step privately. 🌱
Challenge yourself. Support each other. Grow together.

I’ve had a few people ask why I’ve decided to do 12 months sober.
There wasn’t one massive rock-bottom moment. Alcohol hadn’t destroyed my life. I just started questioning what it was actually adding to it.
A good night would often mean a wasted morning, poor sleep, heightened anxiety, a crap training session and not being fully present for the people and things that matter to me.
I’ve spent long enough dealing with my own head without willingly doing something that makes it ten times worse the next day.
So I set myself a challenge: 12 months without alcohol.
Not because I’m saying I’ll never drink again, and definitely not because I think everyone else needs to stop. I simply want to see what I’m capable of when alcohol isn’t taking away my time, energy or focus.
There’s another reason I wanted to share this through MenTribe.
A lot of the messages we receive from men who are struggling arrive late on Friday and Saturday nights. We would never assume what’s behind any individual message, but alcohol can lower our inhibitions and make difficult thoughts and emotions feel even heavier.
Sometimes we drink to escape what’s happening in our heads, only to wake up feeling worse.
This isn’t a lecture. It’s just an invitation to be honest with yourself:
What is alcohol genuinely adding to your life, and what might it be taking away?
You don’t need to hit rock bottom before choosing to make a change. Your challenge doesn’t need to be 12 months, either. It could be 30 days, cutting back or simply becoming more aware of why you’re drinking.
Mine is 12 months.
I’m nervous about putting this out there, but if sharing it encourages one other man to think about his own relationship with alcohol, then it’s worth it.
Because this is exactly what MenTribe encourages: honesty, personal challenge and making a change before reaching crisis point.

Yesterday saw another 11-a-side fixture for MenTribe FC, this time against Springfield FC who travelled over the English border to play us.
The result didn’t quite go our way, but these games are about far more than the scoreline.
It was another reminder that we share a universal language. Not just through football, but through the challenges men face with their mental health. Different communities, different backgrounds, but many of the same struggles.
It also shows exactly why MenTribe is built around our three pillars: Work. Family. External.
As men, we often pour everything into the first two. We work, provide and try to be the best husbands, partners, dads and sons we can be.
But somewhere along the way, the external pillar can disappear.
Football. Mountains. Walking. The gym. Hobbies. Friendships. Something that is yours outside of work and family.
That third pillar isn’t a luxury. It helps support the other two.
That’s where MenTribe comes in.
Whether it’s football, hiking, walking, boxing or simply getting outdoors with other men, we’re creating opportunities for men to invest some time back into themselves, physically, mentally and socially.
Yesterday was another example of exactly that.
Although judging by the sore bodies today, some of us may need to invest a little more time into the physical side 😅
Massive thanks to Springfield FC or travelling over to play us and to Bangor City Stadium for hosting and as always, to Christy Pritchard for leading the way with all things football for MenTribe and continuing to create these opportunities for the lads 👏🏻
Look after that third pillar. It’ll help you show up better for the other two.
