A result that certainly didn’t reflect the Lions’ performance today.

The boys led 2–1 at half-time and were looking good for the opening 40 minutes. They played some excellent football and created plenty of chances but weren’t clinical enough in front of goal.

Unfortunately, the Lions switched off towards the end, allowing Windmill to turn the game around. On the overall balance of play, the boys deserved more, but there were still plenty of positives to take from the performance

⚽⚽ Two fantastic goals from Noah, who was a constant threat from the left wing and caused problems throughout the game.

🛡️ Caolan was an absolute rock at the back and missed nothing all game. His decision making was immense.

🔥 Noah was a constant threat from the left wing and capped off an excellent performance with two superb goals.

It was a great start to the season for our 2020 sides, who kicked off their Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League campaign yesterday!

The rain didn't dampen the spirits, as the lads played out some fantastic games against good opposition.

Great goals, great tackles, and bags of fun.

What a fantastic start for the boys as we secured a 2-1 win in a great game against a very good side!

The boys gave everything we asked of them and showed brilliant effort, attitude and determination throughout the game. They should all be incredibly proud of their performance.

We grew stronger as the match went on and began to find our rhythm. We scored a fantastic team goal, with excellent passing and movement from everyone involved. Our winning goal was scored by Ben, who never gave up and showed great determination to keep going right until the end.

A brilliant team performance and a result we can be proud of. There is plenty to build on, but what a way to start our competitive 7-a-side journey in the Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League !

Well done, boys! 💪🔴⚫

🔥Player of the Week: Alfie 🔥

Alfie was determined throughout the game and never gave the attackers a second on the ball. He showed great effort and commitment defensively, along with a big improvement in his passing.

Well done, Alfie! 💪

🐾 2019 Pumas up and running!

Three tightly fought contests played out at Lisburn LeisurePlex in the Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League this morning in truly biblical rain.

Navigating the car park was the first battle for the 2019 coaches, players and parents! Once that challenge had been overcome, the Banbridge Town Pumas kicked off their season in style—or, perhaps more accurately, with plenty of substance.

The Pumas started the first game brightly, but the larger pitch and the energy required to cover the ground eventually began to tell, with a few sloppy goals conceded.

They were much more competitive in the second game, showing greater structure and beginning to drive forward from the back. A closely contested match followed, which I believe finished in a draw 🤷

As with all good things, however, they saved the best until last. Luke was again the standout player, completing a hat-trick this afternoon, while also making several excellent defensive interceptions. The Pumas rounded off the morning with a resounding victory.

While its early days to start planning the victory parade one thing is for certain the Banbridge Town 2019 Pumas are officially up and running! 🐾🔴⚫

Game of 2 halves today for the 2016 Tigers in their first proper game playing 9 a side in the Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League and it was an eventful one!

3-0 nil down at half time and the boys managed to draw the game 4-4. In the end we had some great chances to sn**ch the win.

The lads showed great determination to get back into the game and worked hard throughout the 2nd half. Also big thanks to Aiden for stepping in between the sticks for Breffni today.

Player of the match - hard one as a lot of the boys were brilliant in the 2nd half but Teddie in the end deserved it 🔴⚫

An unreal introduction to the new Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League season this morning for the 2015 Pumas

The lads went 3 down but we pulled a goal back just before half time.

A half time chat and a couple of tactical tweaks saw the lads go into the second half more confident and motivated, and from there they turned the game around to record a win.

The 2017 Tigers got off to a winning start this morning in their first ever outing in the Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League vs a very good Crewe United team.

First match in the new league and in the dome seemed to create some nerves for the lads and it showed with us going 0-2 down.

Some really excellent vision from Sam found Jack in space to finish superbly which got us right back in it before the break.

2nd half the lads were much more confident, played some excellent football and fought hard for eachother, showing all the attributes needed for a team!

Alfie C scored 2 excellent goals which took the boys to victory in the end.

The boys showed great character to come back from 0-2 down and as coaches we are delighted with how they reacted.

MOTM today was Patrick M. He was rock solid at the back and showed a calmness in his play that really helped settle the boys down.

Lads off to a great start!

The 2017 Lions kicked off their season against Carryduff this evening in their first Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League match of the year! 💪⚽

Not daunted by their new surroundings at the Dome in Colin Glen, the boys were on it from the off. All the hard work put in during pre-season really paid off, with the team showing great energy and workrate throughout.

A fantastic match with plenty of goals, with Leo picking up the Man of the Match. Great start to the league boys🦁 ❤️🖤

Our 2017 Panthers absolutely ran their socks off against an unbelievable opposition in Ballymacash today. The Banbridge lads were fantastic from the first whistle to the last in their first game in the Lisburn Castlereagh Junior League

Unfortunately came on the wrong side of a few goals but couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. They were unlucky not to nick a goal or two towards the end, but there are a few things to work on for next week. One thing’s for sure though — I can’t see them getting a tougher opposition between now and Christmas!

All the boys have improved massively over the summer, and it was brilliant to see that hard work paying off today.

Axel was excellent in his first match in Banbridge colours, but our standout Man of the Match was Sam D, who put in a shift and never gave up for the entire game. 👏

Already looking forward to next week.
