The weekend saw the team compete with some of the very best teams in the country, and walk away with a 4th Place Finish π. They can be extremely proud of their performance over the weekend, battling through injuries, illnesses and tough games.
Day 1
Game 1
Cambusdoon 6 - 1 Hillwood Football Club Thistle
A great start to the group stages of the tournament, with some good attacking football and nice goals being scored.
MOTM was Zacc Cunningham who grabbed a fantastic hattrick β½β½β½.
Game 2
Cambusdoon 0 - 0 Auchinleck Talbot 2013s
A tough game against an opponent we know well. A different type of game, requiring the team to dig in and defend well to secure the point for the draw.
MOTM was goalkeeper Haiden MacLeod, who produced a cracking save at a key time to keep the scores level π§€
Game 3
Cambusdoon 0 - 5 West End FC 2013
It was always going to be very tough against the current Scottish Cup holders. The team gave everything, with players playing through the pain barrier, but the quality of the opposition was clear to see. Had it not been for some inspired goalkeeping from Isaac Donald it could have been more.
MOTM was goalkeeper Isaac Donald. 3 superb saves from point blank shots kept the score down π§€
Day 1 finished with the team securing 2nd place in the group and qualifying for the semi final of the Cup on day 2 ππ
Day 2
Semi Final
Cambusdoon 0 - 8 Pollok FC 2013
A real tough one for the boys with a couple of the boys unable to return after picking up injuries on day 1, and 3 or 4 playing through illness. This left the team with no substitutes against what is an excellent level of opponent. A comfortable win for Pollok saw the team drop into the 3rd/4th place playoff.
MOTM was Aaron Neil. Aaron gave his all and was putting his body on the line right to the end of the match.
3rd/4th Place Playoff
Cambusdoon 1 - 1 Dumbarton FC 2013's
(Dumbarton won 4-2 on pens)
Despite having to utilise substitute goalkeepers outfield and going a goal down in the 1st half, the team didn't give up. A really impressive 2nd half performance, with goalkeeper Isaac Donald being outstanding at Centre Back, the team equalised through Rocco Kerr and took the game to penalties. 2 great saves by Dumbarton's goalkeeper in the shootout got them the win, well done to them.
MOTM Isaac Donald getting his second of the weekend, this time outfield! Maybe a position change on the cards ππ
The team can be extremely proud of their 4th place finish in a really high quality tournament and with such a depleted squad over there weekend.
Well done boys π€π€

Another weekend, another tournament for the team. This weekend we travel to Glasgow to take part in the Glasgow Cup over Saturday and Sunday.
A very tough draw for the boys, with games against Hillwood Football Club Thistle 2013, Scottish Cup winners West End FC 2013 and local rivals Auchinleck Talbot 2013s on Saturday. And then on to knockout games on Sunday.
The players and coaches relish these challenges, and will give their all over the weekend as they continue their summer schedule and look forward to the new season.
π€π€β½π
And that's us full! Thanks so much to everyone who's got involved. Β£580 to winner rest to the boys
This will be drawn on this Saturdays lotto draw (8th August), and will be for the bonus ball on the first draw.

πβ½ Land O' Burns Tournament πβ½
A bit of a mixed bag for the team over the weekend ended with us ultimately coming up short in the Salver Final against an AM Soccer Club 2013 team who deserved their win. Congratulations to them on winning the trophy.
2 games on Saturday afternoon saw a 3-0 defeat against a very good Maybole Juniors 2013s and a 2-1 win against Blantyre Vics 2013. This left us needing a win against Ardrossan Winton Rovers FC 2013 this morning if we wanted to make it to the knockouts of the Cup section. A spirited performance wasn't enough to stop eventual winners of the Cup Ardrossan winning 5-2 and leaving us in 3rd place in the group.
This saw us enter into the Salver knockout section of the tournament, but a tie against Cumnock Juniors Boys Club 2013s meant it didn't mean the games would be any easier! A really good performance against Cumnock resulted in an excellent 4-0 victory, and progression to the final.
In the final we met an opponent who we had never played before, AM Soccer Club 2013. From the first whistle our opponents were clearly right up for the game and put in a very good performance to defeat the team 3-0 and lift the trophy.
Well done to AM Soccer Club, you deserved the win on the day. Well done to our boys, too. Our first summer tournament was full of ups and downs, but we were close to adding a 2nd trophy to the cabinet within a few months. We'll learn from this experience and kick on for the season π€π€β½.
Goalscorers over the weekend:
Hugh Swanson (c) β½β½β½
Rocco Kerr β½β½
Kris Clewlow β½β½
Robbie Jamieson β½
Also a very good clean sheet against Cumnock. Well done Haiden MacLeod π§€
Team worked hard tonight with smiles on their faces. Thank you to RF Coaching for tonightβs session. Preparing for weekends tournament β½οΈπ€π€
