After a stop start summer break, we’re back to business this evening and we’re looking forward to seeing all of our academy players, and hearing all about their return to school.

We have an evening of challenging and purposeful sessions planned, ready to strive towards supporting every player and their development.

A reminder that our new Year 4’s are now in the later session of 6-7pm.

🗣️ 𝗔 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆… 🏠

Firstly, we would like to once again thank everyone in both the local community and wider sporting family for their incredible generosity on our funding page, which we have been absolutely blown away by.

We would like to provide you all with a further update, following investigations carried out since the incident occurred.

Upon detailed examination of our CCTV, it has revealed the culprit to be an adult using a hammer to break the windows, not kids with catapults as previously thought.

This makes things even more concerning, as it was simply a mindless and premeditated act of vandalism, against both Ashford Hockey Club and Kennington Juniors Football Club.

The police are now actively seeking the individual in question and we will be shortly sharing the footage across all platforms.

Our club secretary will appear on Meridian news tonight talking about the incident and its impact on the two clubs involved.

We appreciate everyone's ongoing and unwavering support and will continue to keep you all informed of any further developments.

In what has been a very sad and upsetting time for everyone connected with Ball Lane, the support shown over the last few days has been truly incredible.

In just a couple of days, over £8,600 has been raised to help repair the damage to the clubhouse and pavilion at Ball Lane, used by Ashford Hockey Club and Kennington Juniors.

The response from the whole community has been amazing. Hockey clubs, football clubs, players, parents, families, local businesses and so many individuals have donated, shared the fundraiser, sent messages and offered their support. Every single contribution, no matter how big or small, has meant so much.

Ball Lane means so much to so many. Every week, it provides a place for over 1,000 people, from young children through to adults, to play sport, make friends and be part of a community.

What has been an incredibly sad time has also shown just how special our local community is. There is still work to be done, but the kindness and generosity shown by so many will make a huge difference.

To everyone who has donated, shared, reached out or supported in any way, from us all, thank you. 💛

😢 Sadly, we have very disappointing and upsetting news to share. All the windows of the clubhouse at our academy venue have been smashed overnight and the cricket pavilion has also been vandalised over the last few days.

Along with Ashford Hockey Club, Kennington Juniors and the wider community, we will be fundraising in order to make repairs and upgrade the facilities security.
