Eden made his 50th appearance for the Merlins this Saturday, and celebrated it with a win. You cannot fault this lads commitment, attitude and effort, and he has been a loyal stalwart in this side. Well Done Eden!

MATCHWEEK 2 - 20/09/26 v Belper Town Magic

This week the boys turned up with a lot more energy and a training session in the bank that showed.

We controlled and dominated the game from the off, creating chance after chance through some really smart football. It was all out attack, but somehow found ourselves just ahead come the break.

Second half we continued to push on, but as we did so we left ourselves vulnerable at the back. Belper left players forward and against the run of play found themselves level.

However, the lads didn’t hang around as they went back in front almost immediately. The game continued in much the same fashion until the end, but we were unable to add to the score.

Overall much stronger performance this week to make it two wins from two, but we need to find our ruthless edge in front of goal pretty quickly.

GOALS: Archie, Harlan
ASSISTS: Olly N
MOM: Olly N - played in a bit of a free role in the middle of the park where he really wants to be, showed some great touches, fast feet and hard fought battling. One of his best performances for the Merlins this week and grabbed an assist for his reward

MATCHWEEK 1 - 13/09/26 v Duffield Dynamo Lions

A good season’s opener for the lads today considering a long summer break and intermittent training.

From the off we played some nice football, we were clincial and ruthless and completely in control, finding ourselves comfortably in the lead.

Just before half time we got complacent and saw our lead reduced. The second half began and you could see the Merlins getting leggy and tired, and we were soon down to level terms.

However, these lads just don’t quit, they showed grit and determination, having the character to somehow go back and find the winner.

GOALS: Harlan x 2, Tommy, Ryan
ASSISTS: Archie, Harlan
MOM: Lincoln - absolute rock at the back in the sweeper role, stepped up and kept us in the game when the lads looked dead on their feet

Well another day, another win! 🥇

These lads have done it again, for the second week in a row 🏆 Champions League winners at the Asfordby FC Tournament yesterday!

Won their group and never looked back, lost one game all day by a single goal and won the rest conceding just 2 goals and scoring 9!

So proud of this group and the progress they continue to show 💙
