Solway Petanque Club

Today's doubles competition saw six teams take part over 4 rounds, with several closely contested matches.
Two teams finishing with three wins each, so the final positions were decided on points difference.
Runners-up were Mike Harris and Alan Legg
Today's champions: Richie Cunningham and David Mackie winning with an impressive +10 points difference.
Congratulations to Richie and David and well done to everyone who took part. A big thank you also to everyone who brought food and helped make it such an enjoyable afternoon.

Great achievements for Solway PC members

Well done to the four ladies who took part in today's ladies singles competition. After 3 games 3 players each had 2 wins but Mary Mackay and Anne Walker were equal on points difference. Defending champion Mary Mackay managed to retain her title in winning a play off 13-8 against Anne Walker. A big thank you to David Kirkpatrick for umpiring, to Irving for presenting the trophies and to David Mackie for organising.

Open day 2026 - scoreboard

Open day 2026 was a huge success with 24 players including members of Reivers, Troon, Ayr and Moffat taking part today. Five rounds were played and it came down to a 1 point difference to split the top two teams.
In second place with 4 wins, 55 points for and 30 against was Alan Rankin of Ayr PC and Alva Solley of Reivers PC.
This years champions with 4 wins, 59 points for and 33 against are Jock Mackenzie of Solway PC and Brian Eyles of Reivers PC.
Thanks to all those who took part, helped out and provided food without you there would not be days like these.

Today was our mens singles competition. It was nice to see two new members Jock & Jon in the mix and both played very well. There were several close games and commiserations went to Alan who just missed a place in the final on points difference. Irving Mackay (defending champion) and David Mackie played in the final and David won 13-6.
Thanks to all who took part and provided an excellent buffet.

Once again this weekend members of Solway Pètanque Club did very well at Stirling. On Saturday Solway Sharks (Jim Crombie, Irving Mackay & David Mackie came 12th of 22 teams in the open triples and on Sunday النادي الرياضي بخزامة الصفحة الرسمية Club sportif de khezama C S K(David & Mary Mackie) came 10th of 34 teams in the open doubles.
