Dale Allan opened the scoring before the break, with Gary Hamilton adding our second in the second half to secure the win.

FULL TIME | Airdrie Rovers 2–3 Whitburn FC 🟠⚫

A disappointing start to the league campaign after letting a two-goal lead slip.

Rovers started well and found ourselves 2–0 up thanks to goals from Declan McGill and Scott Blades, putting us in a strong position.

Unfortunately, the final 35 minutes proved costly. Lapses in concentration, coupled with struggling to create enough going forward, allowed Whitburn back into the game and ultimately saw them turn it around to win 3–2.

Plenty to learn from and improve on.

Next up for the meet the players is Jonathan Logan. Aka Jojo.

Can you spot him in the picture? We are the same as every training night and game day can’t spot the man anywhere. Sometimes before a game instead of where’s wally we play where’s jojo with everyone coming up with different excuses that he may have for that weekend.

He’s the only man I know who can’t make training in the rain cause he is cutting grass.. or is he smoking it? Your guess is as good as ours.

Jojo is a character in and around the team when he turns up, he suffers strongly with ADHD and Tourette’s but we are a team made for everyone all shapes and sizes.

Jojo is a fantastic player with lots of energy and would definitely put a shift in anywhere on the pitch, just after he takes his maws slippers off though cause when he passes it gets scooped up into the air, probably due to the fact he’s 5ft4 and swears he’s a size 11 on shoe, no chance of that btw.

Airdrie Rovers 3-2 Bayhorse Accies

Another pre-season run out ends in victory for the Rovers, but it certainly wasn’t one of our better performances.

We started brightly and opened the scoring through Kyle Stewart, who coolly finished after a superb through ball from Brian Marshall. After taking the lead, we took our foot off the gas and allowed Bayhorse back into the game, making life difficult for ourselves.

A number of changes at the break took a little while to settle, and Bayhorse capitalised to make it 2-1. Credit to the lads though, they responded well. Andrew Mitchell latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Jordan Black to level things up with around ten minutes to play, before Gary Hamilton calmly finished from a Nathan Liddell cross after great work down the line by Liam Boyd to secure the win.

Not our best display, but another valuable pre-season workout with plenty of positives to take into the weeks ahead.

The Kings Arms

Next up we have Brian Marshall.

Brian has came to us after a few years out of football but is definitely back to his best. I have no idea how Brian can find passes on the pitch as you could play blinds man bluff with the laces out of his boots.

The eyes certainly pay a key part when he’s hitting shots as they go absolutely everywhere.. over the fence? Easy.
One on one with the keeper? Straight at him.

When Brian first came to us we thought Elton John was his uncle with the ear piercings although we’ve still to find that out.

Brian used to wear his Edgar Davids glasses as young gun we are hoping he gets them back out to release his Edgar Davids and hopefully find that net.

Brian plays a key part in the heart of our midfield and does double the work due to our previous player post..

When he isn’t playing football he’s at the gym as he used to be built like miss trunchbull but that’s down to the fact he was a busy lad making his Minecraft videos on you tube if any of you are keen let us know and we can forward you the link. Mans got skills (on minecraft).

Goodluck on the season ahead Edgar and hopefully you bag that goal one game this season.
