What a game. 👏

A full-blooded, fiery encounter played in scorching conditions, with both teams giving absolutely everything for 90 minutes. It was competitive throughout, but played in great spirits with plenty of respect shown by both sides.

We found ourselves 2-0 down early on but showed real character to battle back.

After taking a 4-3 lead, we were reduced to 10 men following Christon Mackie’s red card, before Glenrothes grabbed a late equaliser to make it 4-4. On another day, either side could have taken all three points.

A special mention to the referee, who had an excellent game. He was consistent, communicated well and officiated fairly for both teams throughout.

A big thank you to Glenrothes Strollers for the game and the hospitality. A cracking advert for over-35s football. 👏

To round off the day, Glenrothes just edged the post-match penalty shootout 4-3. 🎯😂

⚽️ At the weekend, we were delighted to host our annual tournament at Garioch Sports Centre , welcoming the following teams:

• Blairgowrie & Rattray Community Club Over 35’s
• Chesser hearts
• Cove Seniors
• North East Albion
• Sunday Football Kickabout

The format saw every team play each other once in a competitive round-robin stage before the top two sides progressed to the final.

And what a final it was! The two best teams on the day put on a fantastic display, providing an exciting and entertaining finish to a brilliant tournament - With NEA winning on Penalties 👏

A huge thank you to all the teams for taking part and contributing to another successful event. It was great to see everyone enjoying the day, playing in the right spirit, and making the tournament such a memorable occasion.

The Afters was hosted at Goals Bridge of Dee with the hospitality provided by Dando’s Cafe 🤤

We look forward to Hosting again next year - Date coming soon...

Sunday Football Kickabout are hosting the Mrs Murrays Cup on the 6th of June at Garioch Sports Centre, Inverurie.

🕙 Football: 10am – 4pm
📍 Evening Event: Goals Aberdeen from 6.30pm onwards

We currently have ONE team space remaining and are looking for: • Over 30’s team
• Over 35’s team
• Mental wellbeing team

❌ No amateur teams

There will be food on site, entertainment throughout the evening, and teams travelling from different areas, so it should be a fantastic day for players, families, and supporters alike.

🏆 Winners will take home the Mrs Murrays Cup.
