Summer has a way of revealing what we could not hear while we were moving quickly.
What still feels true.
What no longer does.
What we have been tolerating.
What we secretly want more of.
What we are finally ready to let ourselves desire.
There is nothing wrong with loving what you created and knowing something in you has changed.
The Indie does not ask you to rush into the next version of your life.
She asks you to tell the Truth.
The Frenchie lets desire return.
The New Yorker allows what is truly in service to enter.
This is the sacred moment between what was and what is asking to come next.
Not a crisis.
Not a failure.
A recognition.
You changed.
Now what?

There is a particular kind of loneliness that can happen when you have been there for everyone for so long that you can no longer quite feel yourself.
Your life may be full.
People may love you.
You may have work that matters, a family you adore, things you once prayed for.
And still, somewhere underneath all of it, you think…
I miss me.
Not the younger you.
Not the thinner you.
Not the you who had fewer responsibilities.
You.
The part of you who knows what she wants before she considers what everyone else needs.
The part of you who can hear her own Truth without immediately explaining it away.
The part of you who remembers that her soul has a life too.
This is where The Indie can quietly disappear.
The Indie is the part of you who knows how to Be.
She knows who you are beneath the roles.
Beneath what is expected.
Beneath what makes sense.
Beneath being useful.
An out of sync Indie might sound like…
“I don’t even know what I want anymore.”
“I just need everyone else to be okay first.”
“My life is good. Why do I still feel like something is missing?”
“I feel like I’m going through the motions.”
“I don’t know when I stopped feeling like myself.”
Or simply…
“I miss me.”
This does not mean you need to leave your marriage.
Sell your company.
Move to Paris.
Reinvent your entire life.
Perhaps nothing outside of you needs to change today.
But something inside of you is asking to be heard again.
Because the desires of your soul are not an interruption to the life you have created.
They are part of the life that is truly yours to live.
And sometimes the first movement is simply remembering…
I am still here.
This is The Indie FemmeType.

Sometimes your Frenchie is not asking for more.
Not another trip.
Not another dress.
Not a prettier house.
Not another thing to desire.
Sometimes she is asking you to actually enjoy what is already here.
An out of sync Frenchie might sound like…
“I’ll enjoy it when…”
When I lose the weight.
When we make more money.
When the house is finished.
When work settles down.
When I finally get there.
Or perhaps…
“This is beautiful, but…”
And before she has even fully received what is here, she is already looking toward what could make it better.
The next place.
The next purchase.
The next experience.
The next desire.
Beauty stays just slightly ahead of her.
But Frenchie in sync?
She knows how to be seduced by the life she is already living.
The coffee tastes better.
She notices the light on the water.
She wears the dress.
She orders what she actually wants.
She lets Beauty matter simply because Beauty matters to her.
And yes, she still desires more.
Of course she does.
Desires are the impetus of our spiritual evolution.
But she does not postpone Enjoying until the next desire arrives.
This is The Frenchie.
Not having a beautiful life.
Enjoying the one that is already hers.
