You don’t need an hour.
You don’t need the perfect practice.
You don’t even need to feel motivated.

Sometimes 10 minutes outside is enough. 🌿

Walk. Stretch. Move. Play with a Handstand. 🤸🏼‍♀️
Breathe, get out of your head and back into your body.

No perfect practice. Just movement, fresh air & a little reset. 🤍

One drill I’ve been adding to my handstand practice 🤸🏼‍♀️

I’m still working on getting stronger and more controlled in my handstands, and this elevated L-shape leg extension drill has been really helping me.

With my feet on a table or sturdy chair, I stack my hips as much as possible over my shoulders, then slowly bend and straighten my legs. This lets me work on supporting more of my body weight through my hands while challenging my shoulder strength, core control and AWARENESS of my upside-down position, without having to balance at the same time.

A few things I focus on:
- pushing strong through my hands & fingers
- keeping my shoulders active
- keeping my hips high as I bend my knees
- straightening the legs slowly without letting my weight shift too far back

I do 6 to 10 controlled reps & honestly feel it everywhere. 😅

It’s one of those drills that helps me work on the strength and positioning I need for handstand in a more controlled setup. If you’re working on yours too, give it a try and see how it feels for you.

Save it for your next practice 🤸🏼‍♀️

Ready to work on your flying pigeon with this drill? 🐦💪🏼
If eka pada galavasana feels difficult from the floor, using a chair can help you understand the compression, weight shift and pushing strength behind the pose before focusing on the final lift.

Try to use the chair to support the front leg while slowly shifting more weight into the hands.

Try the progression:
front leg bend on chair -> hands to seat -> fold & compress -> shift forward -> lift the back leg

The challenge is keeping your arms active and core engaged while bringing your chest closer to your shin and shifting your weight forward. Don’t jump or kick up. As you find the right balance over your hands, the back leg should start to feel lighter. Move slowly and only progress when you feel stable. And make sure you are using a very stable chair that won’t move or break….😅

Save this for your next practice & follow for more drills like this 🤍
