We spent an amazing evening and morning walking around the island and discovering new corners and sceneries. This island brings the vibe of resorts where you can find everything: daily various free programs (we even participated in the championate of the french national game- petangue), disco, sunset bars with drinks, yoga at the beach, kids running around the island and teenagers having great summer time.. it is just so great to be there, seat and watch.. if you ask me (Tanya) what is my favorite place in the whole France- with no doubt i would say it is this island.

After spending 2 nights and 1 day at sea our first priority was to walk dogs right after we anchored at Port Cros at sunrise. Dogs were happy to finally feel the land and drop for us to collect half a kilo of happy packages in the land where dogs are not allowed to be walked.. luckily we were not aware about that so they had a nice long walk. After that we had an even more nice and even more long sleep (after 2 quite sleepless nights at sea) and we started towards the next island next morning. As it turned out this next island will become my (Tanya's) favorite spot in the whole France. This is a private island of Mr.Paul Ricard- the founder of Ricard company, producer of world famous Pastis liquor. We get to know about this liquor from our good friend Mike Sanders who showed it to us back in Le Havre and since then Peti became a fan of this drink. And as a great businessman- Mr.Ricard developed the island in the best possible manner where you can feel not only as a part of community but in one place you can experience hikings, amazing beaches, insanely beautiful scenery, community events, lots of great restaurants/parties/festivals etc.. more about this island will be in the next post but it definitely became a place of peace and tranquility for us.

The trip from Corsica to the first island near Marseille (Port Cros) takes 2 nights and 1 day. We have calculated that if we start around 10pm in the evening- we will arrive exactly in the morning in a daylight to Port Cros. Since we had to leave the port in Bonifacio by noon- we decided to spend some time in a lovely anchorage and make a BBQ, swim and walk dogs before the longest non-stop passage they did so far.. anchorage was beautiful, with turquoise water and sandy beaches. Since we parked not too far from the beach- Peti and Guyri decided to swim with dogs to the shore for a dog walk. This decision was proven by the fact that in order not to inflate the dinghy- it takes 1 hour and approx 30 min to pack it in and out from the fully folded and stored state.. honestly- we were hoping it wont be a problem for dogs to swim, of course in lifevests.. and when they started it was amazing- dogs swam to the shore much faster then Peti or Gyuri :) but after a nice long walk (Csele was really taking her time to select the perfect spot, so they had to walk like 2 kilometers or more), the wind has suddenly picked up to 20 knots with some waves.. and the way back was way more exciting! But all is good, what ends up good, the little swimming champions got back to the boat safely, despite the waves coming against them! Everyone was delivered safely back to the boat, we did a nice bbq with a freshly caught fish (saddled seabream just before arrival to the anchorage) and off we went.. 2 nights and one day offshore..

We have welcomed our next guest for the longest non-stop passage so far with our boat- from Sardinia back to Marseille because we had ordered new boom and a reefing system for our sails (our old boom was original and had no proper reefing system). Peter's father Gyuri arrived to us and the same day we started the first leg of this trip- visit to Bonifacio (Corsica). This city is located on top of cliffs and marina is usually fully booked and we were lucky to pre-book it in advance. Starting from the arrival when you see the wall of white cliffs and a city on top of them- this place felt magical. We explored the city in the evening and in the afternoon next day we had to leave. But if you are in Corsica- do visit this city, it is very special and unique.
