3rd place for Fiji Judo athlete Gerard Takayawa at Kanto University Championship representing Ryutsu Keizai University. Gerard Takayawa results earns him qualification for the All Japan University Championship on September 26-27 at the Nippon Budokan, Tokyo.

Congratulations to the 13 graduates of the IWF Level 1 Club Coaches certification that was held this week in Suva. Several of the participants are from primary schools from Navosa, Lomary and Levuka plus some senior athletes.
A big shout out to Olympic Solidarity’s Development of National Sports Structure (DNSS) program for the funding of the course.

Team Fiji gathered last night for our Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Thanksgiving - athletes, entourage, families and partners in one room at last.

Athlete and entourage certificates were presented on the night, with addresses from Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Jese Saukuru, Chef de Mission Ajay Ballu, and FASANOC President Cathy Wong.

The Minister also presented Taniela Rainibogi with $15,000 and Jasmine Daunakamakama with $5,000, in recognition of their performances and the milestones they reached in Glasgow.
