The Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Jese Saukuru, today received the i-Tatau from Team Fiji, presented by Ratu Orisi Seruitanoa on behalf of the delegation ahead of the team's departure for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The presentation of the i-Tatau is a deeply respected Fijian tradition, symbolising Team Fiji's request for the blessings of Fiji and the Government before leaving our shores to represent the nation. It reflects humility, respect and the strong connection between the team and the people they proudly represent.
Team Fiji will begin departing Fiji from 19 July as they embark on their journey to Glasgow, carrying with them the hopes, prayers and pride of the nation.

FASANOC Announces Final Team Fiji Delegation for the 2026 Commonwealth Games
The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) is pleased to officially announce the athletes and team officials selected to represent Team Fiji at the 2026 Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
Following an extensive selection and justification process undertaken by the FASANOC Selection Justification Committee (SJC), and subsequent approval by the FASANOC Executive Board and the FASANOC Board of Management, Team Fiji will travel to Glasgow with a delegation of 58 members, representing eight sports.
The final team reflects the commitment of FASANOC and National Federations to uphold a transparent, fair and performance-based selection process. Each athlete was assessed against the approved FASANOC Selection Criteria, sport-specific qualification standards and, where applicable, Commonwealth Games qualification requirements.
Team Fiji will compete in the following sports:
• Athletics
• Basketball 3x3
• Boxing
• Bowling
• Judo
• Para Athletics
• Swimming
• Weightlifting
Three sports secured qualification through direct qualification pathways or bipartite invitations:
• Basketball 3x3 (Men’s)
• Basketball 3x3 (Women’s)
• Para Athletics
• Weightlifting
FASANOC Secretary General-CEO Vanessa Kilner congratulated the athletes selected to represent Fiji.
“On behalf of FASANOC, I congratulate every athlete and official selected. Earning the opportunity to represent our nation at the Commonwealth Games is a significant achievement that reflects years of dedication, discipline and sacrifice.
We also acknowledge the National Federations, coaches, support staff, families and partners who have contributed to the athletes’ journey. We are confident Team Fiji will represent our nation with pride, integrity and excellence in Glasgow.”
FASANOC also acknowledged the athletes who were not selected despite their commitment throughout the qualification period. The organisation thanked them for their dedication and encouraged them to continue striving towards future international competitions.
As Team Fiji enters its final preparation phase, FASANOC calls on all Fijians to rally behind the team as they prepare to compete against the Commonwealth’s best athletes.
Team Fiji will depart our shores in waves; Basketball, Bowls and Swimming will depart Nadi on 20 July while Athletics and Weightlifting will depart Nadi on 22 July.
Boxing will depart Nadi on 4 July for a training camp in Ireland.
