I know this one personally.

There was a time when I was living my dream life.

We had our mountain home, our off-grid homestead, animals, land and another beautiful baby.

And then we had a fire that tore through 8 hectares of our land.

What I didn’t realise at the time was how deeply it had affected me.

I became withdrawn and, years later, found myself struggling with depression and unable to get out of bed.

The hardest part?

Thinking, “But I’m living my dream life… why am I feeling like this?”

Eventually, I trained as a mindset coach, and it completely changed my life.

I learned that creating your dream life on the outside doesn’t mean you won’t struggle on the inside.

And that’s why mindset is such a huge part of the work I now do with women building online businesses to financially thrive off grid.

Because we don’t just need the strategy.

We need to work on the woman building the business too.

Your fears, beliefs, confidence and relationship with money all impact how you show up.

Every time I feel scared, I remind myself that every good thing in my life came after I decided to be brave. 🌿

I think about the time I moved country to start again.

I had no idea exactly what the future would look like. I just knew I couldn’t keep living the life I had been living.

I think about the day I bought a remote off-grid home.

Most people probably thought it was a crazy decision.

I think about meeting my soulmate and deciding to try for a baby after just 6 weeks of knowing each other.

Bat sh*t crazy? Absolutely. 😂

And then there was starting an online business…

I had no idea what I was doing.

I didn’t have all the answers.

I wasn’t an expert.

I just knew I wanted to create an income that gave me the freedom to live the life I had chosen.

Every single one of those decisions required me to step into the unknown.

And every single one changed my life.

That’s what I remind myself whenever fear shows up now.

Fear doesn’t always mean “don’t do it.”

Sometimes it means you’re standing at the edge of your next chapter.

The life you dream about is probably going to require you to do things you’ve never done before.

To make decisions before you have all the answers.

To trust yourself.

To be brave enough to choose a different path.

Because the biggest risk might not be failing.

It might be staying exactly where you are because you’re too scared to find out what’s possible.

You don’t need to know exactly how it’s going to work.

I’m not your typical off grid business coach..

Seeing this article today reminded me why we moved off grid in the first place and is off grid living really as ‘extreme’ as some people think?

Watching conspiracy documentaries and smoking a lot of w**d made me choose this lifestyle… and I’m not ashamed of that.

Off-grid doesn’t mean disappearing from the world.

For us, off-grid living has never been about deprivation.
