Portobello Pub Crawl Part 2: The Foresters Guild 🍻

Next stop for the CAMRA Edinburgh & South East Scotland social was Foresters Guild, just a short walk down the high street.

It's a comfortable local spot with a dedicated dining area serving food, featuring armchairs under a vintage street map ceiling, with extra seating out front on the pavement. Out back, the beer garden has had a refresh recently. The old beach huts were removed earlier this year to make way for a covered pergola area and extra seating next to the seaside wall mural.

On the bar, they have two handpumps dedicated to rotating cask ales, though only one was pouring on our visit:

🍺 Fyne Ales Jarl (3.8% Citra session blonde).

A nice, relaxed pub to wrap up the evening with the group.

Portobello Pub Crawl Part 1: The Portobello Tap 🍻

Kicked off this month's CAMRA Edinburgh & South East Scotland 2-pub social down in Portobello!

First stop was Portobello Tap. Reopened back in 2019 by Cross Borders Brewing, it's a great pub just a short stroll from the beach. With 20 lines available, their main chalkboard features 12 rotating options covering a brilliant mix of beer and cider.

🍺 Cask Cross Borders Session Pale and Rich's Vintage Cider (a hefty 7.2%!).
🍺 Local picks like Pilot, Moonwake and alcohol-free brewery Jumpship.
🍺 Guest taps from Tempest, Arbor and DEYA.

Really nice space inside with the walls lined in hundreds of pump clips, offering plenty of seating from classic high bar stools to deep burgundy leather booths. Plus, they've got a fantastic covered beer garden out back with festoon lights and their Porty Shack serving up burgers.

Last day of the Glasgow Real Ale Festival! 🍻

We've spent the last two days soaking in the brilliant atmosphere, tasting some fantastic beers, pulling some pints, and catching up with so many amazing people. Honestly, if we lived a little closer, we'd be right back there again today for the final day!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat. We were absolutely blown away by how many of you told us how much you love our app! Seeing that kind of support in person makes all the hard work worth it. 👍

Midnight, the 3rd member of Real Ale Finder, wants pubs to download the app.

It's simple:

👉 Register your pub with a valid email address.
👉 Start adding your beers.

Once your registration has been processed, you will be visible on the map and your beers will appear in the app for customers to find.

VERY important:
👉Read your welcome email.
👉Get your customers to follow you for updates.
👉Keep your beer list up to date. 🍻
