Should you compete?
Stepping on stage is not just about getting lean enough to compete.
A real contest prep tests your discipline, consistency, recovery, mindset, lifestyle and your ability to stay committed when the process becomes demanding.
Before deciding to compete, ask yourself a more important question:
Am I actually ready for everything that comes with it?
Sometimes the right decision is to start the prep.
Sometimes the smarter decision is to spend more time building, improving weak points and creating a stronger foundation first.
There is no value in rushing to the stage just to say you competed.
The goal should be to arrive prepared, competitive and proud of the physique you have built — while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
The stage is one day.
The development of an athlete takes years.
Choose the decision that supports your long-term progress.

Same body. Same pose. Four weeks apart.

On the left, that was me immediately after the competition: depleted, fatigued and still carrying the physical cost of contest preparation.

On the right, this is me one month later: fuller, stronger and already progressing again.

This is not simply a change in bodyweight. It is the result of a controlled recovery phase: gradually increasing food, improving my training performance and allowing my body to regain balance without losing direction.

My goal after the show was never to remain stage-lean forever. It was to recover intelligently, rebuild my performance and create the right conditions for new muscle growth.

Four weeks of consistency. No extremes. No rushing.

The physique I want to bring to the stage in 2027 is being built now.

I AM THE PROCESS.

Sometimes the diet isn’t the problem.

Sometimes the real issue is organisation, routine and the ability to stay consistent when motivation drops.

Of course, if a plan genuinely doesn’t fit the athlete, it should be adjusted. That’s part of good coaching.

But before changing calories, foods, meal timing or the entire structure, ask yourself one question:

Is the plan really not working… or am I simply not following it consistently enough to know?

Progress requires adjustments.

But it also requires enough consistency to understand what actually needs adjusting.

A Pro Card can change your status.
It doesn’t automatically make you a professional.

Being a **Pro** is also about what happens when there are no stage lights, no trophy and no placing on the line.

It’s how you show up.
How you represent bodybuilding.
How you interact with judges, athletes and the people coming up behind you.
How seriously you treat your image, your education and your responsibilities within the sport.

The best athletes understand that the stage is only one part of the job.

Be present at shows.
Learn from judges.
Support other competitors.
Share something useful.
Build relationships.
Give back to the community that gave you the opportunity to compete.

Because physiques will change. Placings will eventually be forgotten.

**Your reputation won’t.**

The card gives you the title.
**Your conduct makes you a Pro.**

What do you think separates a great bodybuilder from a true professional?

Contest prep is not built on motivation.

It’s built on what you do when motivation isn’t there.

Every rep.
Every meal.
Every early morning.
Every decision made when nobody is watching.

That is what shapes the athlete long before the stage ever sees the final result.

Don’t waste energy comparing your journey to someone else’s. Different structure. Different history. Different response. Different path.

Focus on your own progress.

Because when you finally step on stage, you’re not just presenting a physique.

You’re presenting months of discipline, sacrifice, consistency and decisions repeated often enough to become visible.

And whether you realize it or not, someone else may be watching your journey and thinking:

“Maybe I can do this too.”

That is the real power of the process.

Build something you’re proud to stand behind.

Choosing a coach shouldn’t be about who has the biggest following, the best physique or the most trophies.

Those things can tell you something.

But they don’t tell you everything.

A good coach is defined by what happens behind the scenes:

How they communicate.
How they adapt when the plan stops working.
How closely they follow the athlete.
How available they are when decisions need to be made.
How they manage both progress and problems.
And whether they are still willing to learn, evolve and question their own methods.

Because coaching is not about applying the same system to everyone.

It is about understanding the individual in front of you and making the right decisions at the right time.

Before choosing your next coach, look beyond the feed.

Ask questions.
Speak to current athletes.
Speak to former athletes.
Understand their philosophy, their standards and the way they work.

The “best” coach is not always the most visible one.

It is the one who gives you the best chance to improve.

Choose carefully.

Your progress will always reflect the quality of the decisions behind it.

The show is over. The work isn’t.

Over the last couple of months, I stepped back from social media to put my full focus into prep and competition.

Now it’s time for the next chapter.

Monday marks 5 weeks post-show and my 4th week back training, after taking the first week completely off to recover.

For me, this is one of the most important phases of the entire season.

Recovery.
Performance.
Health.
Progression.
Building.

What happens now will play a major role in what I bring to the stage next season.

This time, I want to share the entire process with you — not just the final result.

The training.
The nutrition.
The decisions.
The setbacks.
The progress.
The reality behind bodybuilding.

And there will be a few surprises along the way.

The next chapter starts now.

Follow the process.
