Master your backhand volley with this simple progression: Block → Palm → Tap → Hit 🎾✅

🤚 Block = Block the ball back using the outside of your palm, following the motion of a backhand volley.

🖐️ Palm = Place your non-dominant palm on the racket strings and imitate catching the ball with your hand — but let the racket do the hitting.

🎾 Tap = Hold the racket throat with your non-dominant hand. First, block the ball to yourself, then tap it over the net.

💥 Hit = Put it all together and hit the backhand volley normally, using your full grip and motion.

Your Forehand Is a Sequence 🎾🔥

Here’s the modern forehand broken down in 5 steps 👇

1️⃣ UNIT TURN
Non-dominant arm turns the shoulders. Get fully rotated and look over the non-dominant shoulder.

2️⃣ PREPARATION
Let go with the non-dominant hand and use it for spacing while the racket sets to the side.

3️⃣ DROP & PULL
Drop the racket head → pull the handle forward → let the racket head accelerate through.

4️⃣ CONTACT
Extend forward into the ball. Your contact point and racket-face angle control the quality of the shot.

5️⃣ FOLLOW THROUGH
Finish over the shoulder. Drive with the back leg and let the body move forward naturally.

The smoother the sequence, the easier it is to generate power, spin and consistency.

Save this and compare your forehand to these 5 positions. 👀

Your doubles opponent is NOT ready for this… 😂

Meet the Tornado Serve. 🌪️

I use this when I want to create an extreme angle and make the return as uncomfortable as possible.

The secret is simple:

➡️ Move into the doubles alley
➡️ Create extreme slice
➡️ Rotate your body through the serve
➡️ Make the ball escape the court after the bounce

The harder they have to move for the return, the harder their next shot becomes.

Would you try this? 👀🎾

Want more topspin AND power on your forehand? 🎾🔥

Try focusing on the racket path, not just hitting the ball harder.

Here’s a simple progression you can use:

1️⃣ Drop the racket head
Before accelerating forward, let the racket head drop below the ball. A ball-picking tube or an extra racket is a great visual tool — swing underneath it and then push forward and up.

2️⃣ Keep the arm relaxed
Don’t try to muscle the forehand. A loose arm allows the racket to accelerate much more naturally.

3️⃣ Feel the wrist rotation 💡
Think about the motion of changing a light bulb. Your wrist and forearm naturally rotate back and forth. You don’t need to force it — just let the racket move freely.

4️⃣ Learn to lift the ball
Place a chair in front and feed low balls just behind it. Your goal is to create enough racket speed and upward movement to clear the chair. This is a great visual way to learn the shape of a topspin forehand.

5️⃣ Put it all together 🎯
Once you understand the movement, go back to normal feeds. You should start creating a higher, more curved ball with more topspin, more power and better control.

Remember: more power doesn’t always come from hitting harder.

It often comes from a better racket path, a relaxed arm and good acceleration. 🎾
