After a summer pause, I find myself thinking about what it really means to return.
Vacations give us distance from our routines — different places, different rhythms, moments with the people we love, and sometimes enough stillness to notice what has quietly changed within us.
And returning doesn’t always mean coming back exactly as we left.
We are taught to hide the cracks.
To repair quietly.
To return looking untouched.
But what if the places where we broke
are also the places where the light enters?
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold — not disguising what happened, but allowing the fracture to become part of the object’s story.
I keep thinking about this.
About the parts of ourselves we try to put back exactly as they were.
The memories we carry.
The things we outgrow.
The moments that crack something open inside us.
Perhaps healing is not about becoming who we were before.
Perhaps it is about meeting who we are after.
After the falling.
After the silence.
After the letting go.
This is where I want to begin again after summer.
Not perfect.
Not untouched.
Whole in a different way.
My Kintsugi Soul.
This is where Poetry in Movement begins again —
with the body as our language,
movement as our poetry,
and all the pieces of ourselves invited into the room.
A new chapter at Laura Iva Studios.

I follow the dialogue between breath and body.
Through dance, somatic movement, subtle structure and poetic ritual, I hold spaces where we soften control, listen inward and return to ourselves — with strength, softness and conscious arrival.
As summer unfolds, Laura Iva Studios will be taking a gentle pause during the month of July.
This time will be dedicated to family, rest, reflection, and gathering new inspiration for the months ahead.
Classes and workshops will resume from 14 August, and I look forward to welcoming you back for more movement, creativity, connection, and shared moments.
Thank you to everyone who has walked, moved, breathed, and created alongside me this season. Your presence has meant more than words can express.
Wishing you a beautiful summer filled with light, joy, and meaningful moments.
With gratitude,
Laura Iva Studios ✨
We spend so much of our lives learning how to speak.
How to explain.
How to justify.
How to tell our stories.
And yet, long before we find the words, the body is already speaking.
In the way we breathe.
In the way we carry tension.
In the way we soften, hesitate, reach, retreat, open.
This Friday, we become curious about that quieter language.

LETTERS FROM THE BODY
There is a staircase inside me
that does not appear on any blueprint.
•
I find it only occasionally.
•
Usually when the world
is looking elsewhere.

Translation incomplete.

Happy Children’s Day. ❤️
Today we celebrate children.
Not only the children who are surrounded by comfort, opportunities, and safety, but also those growing up in difficult circumstances, facing challenges no child should have to carry.
Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, safe, encouraged, and loved.
As we celebrate the children in our lives today, may we also hold a thought for those who need a little more kindness, support, and hope in their world.
As a small gift from my heart, I would like to offer 10 free places for a special Little Hearts in Motion session this Saturday.
A gentle space to move, play, imagine, breathe, connect, and simply be.
✨ 10 places offered with love to celebrate Children’s Day. Advance registration required. ❤️
❤️ For all children.
❤️ For the child we once were.
❤️ For the future we are helping to shape.

The child within us never truly leaves; it waits to be heard, seen, and welcomed home. ❤️
We all carry things.
Not only in our hands, but in our hearts, our thoughts, and eventually in our bodies.
The unfinished conversation.
The uncertainty.
The responsibility.
The waiting.
The things we cannot change.
Some we choose.
Some arrive uninvited.
Some stay longer than we hoped.
And after a while, the body begins to speak their language—in the shoulders, the back, the breath, the way we move through our days.
Tonight’s Poetry in Movement explores this invisible weight.
Not to fix it.
Not to analyze it.
But to notice it.
To move with it.
And perhaps, for a moment, allow it to rest.
Because sometimes the answer is not to carry more.
Sometimes it is to pause, breathe, and remember our own strength.

No dance experience needed. Simply come as you are.
There are loud spaces
where everyone speaks at once.
And there are spaces
where movement and breathing
become the conversation.
A quiet evening
of soft movement,
quiet presence,
and a trace of essential oils in the air.

I am not interested in teaching movement
as performance.
I am interested in what happens
when someone finally exhales, softens, and begins to inhabit their body again.
Poetry in Movement was created as a space between dance, breath, sensation, imagination, and presence — a place where movement is not something to achieve, but something to experience.
No perfect bodies.
No pressure to “look right.”
Only movement as a way of returning closer to yourself.

Sometimes the most powerful movement
begins in uncertainty.
Not knowing the outcome.
Not having all the answers.
And still allowing the body to move,
to breathe,
to trust.
Poetry in Movement
is not about performance.
It is about returning to yourself
one movement at a time.
