Love seeing learning move beyond the classroom and out onto the land! Students at Chief Jimmy Bruneau School spent time exploring traditional plant use and listening to stories about the wolverine. A great example of connecting learning, culture, community, and the land.
Thank you to James for sharing his knowledge and stories with the students!

Safe school sport doesn't happen by accident. It takes policies. It takes screening and education. It takes clear expectations and accountability. Most importantly, it takes all of us.
Our new Safe School Sport resource helps students, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers and schools understand some of the safeguards we have in place, including screening, the Rule of Two, our Code of Conduct, training and education, athlete protection, and reporting processes. NT School Sports
We also want parents to feel comfortable asking questions. Who is responsible for my child? Have adults been appropriately screened? What happens during travel? How do coaches communicate with students? How do I report something that doesn't feel right?
Ask the questions. Know the safeguards. Speak up. Look out for one another. Safe Sport Starts With All of Us.
Safe School Sport. Stronger Together. - NT School Sports
School sport should be a place where students feel safe to participate, compete, learn, make mistakes, build friendships and represent their schools and communities with pride. At NT School Sports, creating that environment does not happen by accident. It takes policies, people, education and accoun...

Every student deserves opportunities to move, participate, learn, and belong. School sport can help young people build confidence, friendships, movement skills, and positive experiences that support an active life well beyond school. A wonderful reminder from Physical Literacy NWT that every opportunity to move matters.
Being active is about so much more than exercise!!! Movement helps us build stronger bodies, but it can also help sharpen our minds, lift our mood, build confidence, create friendships, and support our health for years to come. And the best part? Being active can look different for everyone.
Physical Literacy is about helping people develop the confidence, competence, and motivation to be active in ways they enjoy, throughout their lives. Every opportunity to move matters. Move more. Feel better. Live well.

We love the campaign, and we can't wait to see it grow this school year! Last year, we saw coaches, volunteers, athletes, officials, and supporters proudly wearing their Team NT gear, showing what it means to represent the North with pride.
As we get ready for another exciting season of school sport, we're already thinking about new swag to celebrate our amazing community.
We'd love to hear your ideas as we continue building a community that wears the North with pride. Wear it proud. Wear it Northern. Wear it Team NT.
Want to look as great as Cory in your swag?
Our gear is made for coaches, volunteers, athletes, and supporters who show up, lead with heart, and represent the North with pride. Comfortable, meaningful, and built for community. Wear it proud. Wear it Northern. Wear it Team NT.
