Happy Monday! It’s the last day of August 😬. I’ll be taking a break from bouquets for a bit so that I can’t try to catch up! I have a lot going on for the next two weeks and I am NOT ready. We’re going to tackle some back to school shopping today so wish me luck! Is your family ready for school or are you scrambling like me?

I’m thankful for this rain and cooler weather but I don’t like how it feels like fall has come in with such a bang. I’m not ready for summer to be over. It’s such a busy time around here, trying to keep up with garden tasks: deadheading, weeding, fertilizing, staking 😩 everything seems to flop by now. Making notes for next year, what worked what didn’t and who gets the cut. It was peonies who got the axe this year. I’ll miss them in spring .. but I’ve decided I am too tight on space to let them sit for most of the year doing nothing. is there anything in your garden not earning it’s keep?

Just 3 more days left for me to be ready for garden tour. Full disclosure, I’m in total panic mode. But I’m also realizing the fight for perfection is not only pointless but also not great for my mental health either. You can’t control Mother Nature although that is the exact objective of gardening . . . Trying to control and manipulate. Maybe a little more letting go would be freeing for myself, and the gardens. But I hope you come by and have a look, witness the wins and the fails, (there have been many fails this year!) There WILL be weeds. Sad plants. Happy plants.. and everything in between.
