And thatโs a wrap on the U9 Carded Pipestone Penguins seasonโwhat a way to finish! ๐ง๐
This group showed incredible growth from start to end. They opened the season as B Finalists in Assiniboia, went on to win the C Side in Wapella, captured the B Side at home in Whitewood, and capped it all off by winning the A Side in Weyburn. A true testament to how much this team developed over the past four months.
From day one, the goal of this program was to provide the best possible development opportunitiesโand it delivered. The kids had the chance to train with Fozzy Skating, Brett Peppler, and Kyler Beckett, and weโre incredibly grateful to Pipestone Bull Bash for making those sessions possible, along with all of our amazing sponsors who supported this season.
When you look at the numbers, it really stands outโthese players had about 25 games in their regular minor hockey season, plus another 25+ through the carded program, along with extra practices. Thatโs essentially double the ice time, and it showed in their confidence, skill, and overall growth. Programs like this not only elevate development but keep kids excited, engaged, and loving the game.
To finish it off, the Penguins defeated Estevan 13โ3 in the semi-final and went on to beat Melville 8โ5 in the A Finalโan incredible way to close out the season. ๐ช
