I was the tournament director for the Yukon’s first Get In Get Out Get Rated event this past week. It was a one round event on a Wednesday night at the course at our local ski hill, Mount Sima.

We don’t have a lot of PDGA tournaments in the Yukon so we don’t have a chance to play a lot of rated rounds. The way this works is it was a low cost event, no player packs, no prizes, just an event that let us play a round that counts toward our PDGA ratings. We also had some CTP and draw prizes.

It was a beautiful night to be on the ski hill playing disc golf!

I love the long daylight hours we have during our Yukon summers. I took a stack of my Innova Discs distance drivers out to see if the new ones were flying further than the old ones.

Come out and play the new lower 9 holes combined with the existing back 9 holes. Playing will contribute to or establish your PDGA rating.

The disc golf course at Mount Sima has a new addition! Planning for this new layout happened earlier this summer with Tim Hogan Whitehorse Disc Golf Assoc and Mount Sima and the baskets were installed last week.

The new lower 9 can be played from the bottom of the ski hill instead of going up the chairlift. The new holes are located on the ski runs allowing for some big open shots and beautiful views.

The new 9 holes ties right into hole 10 of the existing course so you can still play 18 holes by playing the back 9.
