WOW, what a day! Anybody who knows Lake Erie Bassin’ understands there are not many days like this weather-wise! Winds were calm, sun was out & for most of the field, the fish were chewing! We did have to deal with a little fog in the AM but everyone played it safe and we had no issues! Congrats to our 2026 NGTA Lake Erie Bass Open Champs, Wayne & Chad Nelson who took home a cool $2,800 for a great day of fishing! Thanks to American Baitworks Co. for providing prize packs to the 1st team out of the money (Mike & Dylan Blair) & highest finishing youth angler (Ethan Clay)! Kudos & thanks to Mike & Sue Watson plus my partner, Steve Neveu for all their help during the event!
A cool feature of this event is that we had 8 teams that consisted of a father & child!
Full standing will be in a separate post!

On this latest North GTA Bass Anglers weekend trip, although we caught lots of bass but it was fun multi-species time!
06/05/2026
Hopefully this will be the first of many more of these events! The North GTA Bass Anglers gathered for a trip down to Lake Chautauqua & Lake Erie for a fun filled weekend! This event encompassed what our club is all about, it was all about camaraderie, fishing, food and having a great time!
We’re sure that everyone who attended this awesome trip will agreed that we all got to know each other a bit better & learned a lot about fishing!
Thanks to Jim for hosting us for our 2 dinners where there was no shortage of food & drink! We’ll post some more pics from the weekend shortly!
