There are moments in life when you look at yourself from the outside and ask,
“How did I get from there… to here?!”
And then you realize that maybe you didn’t really “get somewhere else”… maybe you finally found your way back to yourself.
If someone had told me a few years ago that I would find myself in Canada, by a lake, doing Pilates, taking a deep breath, connecting with myself and feeling that I am exactly where I am supposed to be, I probably would have smiled, laughed and not believed them.
For so many years, I never imagined, and honestly never even allowed myself to imagine doing anything other than education, leadership and entrepreneurship.
Years of educating students. Years of being a principal at school. Leading teams, leading educational initiatives, making decisions, giving lectures, television interviews, big dreams and so much doing.
That was my world.
That was my identity.
And I was sure it would stay that way forever.
But sometimes life knows how to take us to places we never planned to reach.
Moving to Canada almost three years ago changed so many things inside me. It taught me that life can also look different. That you can start again even after you have already built an entire life.
Change taught me that you can be scared and still do it.
Cry and still do it.
Miss what you left behind and still do it.
And most of all, not know what is going to happen… and still do it.
I learned that “jumping into deep water” is really not just a cliche . It is a real and scary decision. One where you have no idea if you will know how to swim, or if you will need someone to save you… but you jump anyway, because somewhere inside, you already know that you are brave enough and that you have to try.
Today I understand more than ever that the biggest changes in my life happened when I was truly sure about what I wanted, no matter what and no matter what people around me might say.
Some things happen and we don’t understand why.
Some doors close and we are sure it is the end of the story.
Sometimes everything feels unclear, unfair and completely unplanned, like a storm.
But storms pass too.
Only later, when we look back, we understand:
It wasn’t the end of the road.
It was the beginning of a new one.
I truly believe that things happen for a reason and eventually for the better, even when we cannot see the good while we are going through them.
And more than anything, I learned that change can be a beautiful thing when we choose it with complete faith in ourselves and in our own path.
I also have to say that the people around us have such a huge influence on our courage to take risks and make changes.
I am so lucky to have my family and their support, and especially the support of my husband, even during the moments when I was still trying to understand who I was becoming through all of these changes.
And I think my children received something in return too.
They get to see a mom who dreams.
A mom who is scared and still does it.
A mom who starts again, in another country and in another language.
A mom who shows them that no matter how old you are, and no matter how much you have already achieved in your life, you are still allowed to choose yourself again.
For years, the team I managed in Israel used to laugh and tell me:
“Tali, please… no dreams tonight.”
Because they knew that if I had a dream at night, by the morning I was already trying to make it happen.
I guess that part of me never changed.
Only this time…
the dream was about me.
It seems that my love for movement, something that had always been inside me and had been a big part of my life many years ago, was simply closed inside a box.
And one day, I opened that box again.
At first with fear.
Then with curiosity.
And today, with confidence and strength.
Today, I own a private Pilates studio in Canada.
And even when I say it out loud, sometimes I still can’t believe it. It still makes me emotional.
From the outside, it may look like I completely changed my life.
From education to Pilates.
From managing a school to managing a studio.
But the truth is, I am still the same Tali.
I still empower people.
I still lead.
I still really see the person standing in front of me.
I still believe in personal connection, communication, confidence, the process, and in helping people discover strength they didn’t even know they had.
Only today, I do it one-on-one.
And today, part of what I do is empowering women through their bodies.
It is so important to me that every woman who walks into my studio feels that she doesn’t need to be anyone else.
Not thinner.
Not younger.
Not stronger.
Not more flexible.
Just herself.
I want her to feel safe and comfortable in her body.
To feel strong and capable.
To look in the mirror and see so much more than a number on a scale.
Maybe this is so important to me because I know exactly what it feels like not to feel confident in your own body.
For years, I didn’t feel confident in mine.
And somehow, now, as the years go by, as my body changes and losing weight has become a challenge of its own, I feel more connected to myself than ever.
More complete.
More confident.
More loving toward myself.
Not because my body is perfect.
But because I stopped waiting for it to be perfect before allowing myself to love it.
And maybe that is one of the greatest gifts this new path has given me.
And now, it is my time to pass that feeling on to other women.
My husband took this picture of me by a lake in Ontario, Canada, doing Pilates.
For me, it is much more than a picture.
It is a reminder of the journey I have been through and am still going through.
Of the deep water I jumped into.
Of what I left behind.
Of what I chose to take with me.
Of all the fears that didn’t stop me.
And of the person I am still becoming.
Sometimes life changes our direction so we can arrive exactly at the place we never had the courage to go to on our own. ❣️

When you do what you love from the heart, it doesn’t feel like work, even on vacation. 🤍
A little Pilates by the water, surrounded by nature, was exactly what my body and soul needed.
Because Pilates isn’t just what I do.
It’s part of who I am. Tali.Pilates
