Cooking fresh seafood by moonlight in the Silver Moon at The Bay. As good as it gets in my world. Another Dave Gu capture with a Jenny Pedersen cameo.
Uni Oyster 🦪 & Prawn 🍤 Pancake 🥞
Toss chopped prawns with shallots, jalapeño, ginger, green onion, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Gently warm 12 shucked oysters in their liquor until they plump up—don’t boil them.
Whisk a thin batter using Korean pancake mix, tempura mix, or both. Blend in a few ounces of uni.
Pour an 8-inch pancake into a hot, oiled pan. When it’s halfway set, add the prawn and oyster mixture, green onions, and bean sprouts. Fold, crisp, and cook through. Squeeze some lemon juice over everything.
Finish with fresh herbs and serve with a simple dipping sauce of soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, green onion, and sesame seeds.
Crispy. Briny. Rich. Everything you want from the coast in one bite after a big day of harvest.

Join us for the Eatwild LEH Workshop Party and learn how to get the most out of BC’s Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) system. Connect with fellow hunters, plan adventures for the season ahead, gain a better understanding of wildlife management in British Columbia, and raise a few bucks for conservation.
We’ll also be celebrating the grand opening of the new Reliable Gun location in Langley!
The LEH program is a critical conservation and allocation tool that helps manage wildlife populations while creating fair hunting opportunities across BC. LEH application season is also one of the most exciting times of year for hunters, a great excuse for us to gather, learn, and get fired up for the fall ahead.
Reliable Gun will host us from 6:00–7:00 PM. Arrive early if you’d like to browse the store and do a little shopping before the presentation begins.
Dylan Eyers from EatWild will lead a practical presentation covering:
*How the LEH system works
*Strategies for improving your draws
*How to plan hunts around the LEH system
*Tips for understanding regulations and opportunities
After the presentation, we’ll head next door to Dead Frog Brewery to continue the conversation, connect with the hunting community, and socialize.

A few tips for finding morels when it’s slim pickings. This is from last week, after some warm temperatures and a very dry spring. So we were looking in areas that might be wetter and cooler despite the dry conditions. We eventually got it to them. This weekend should be better after last week's rains. Good luck and send pics if you find your pocket of morels. Safe pickings!
A little help from the pulley system to wrap up this whitetail hunt. Thanks for the refreshing . And thanks for the whole deer game bags from . They work great!

It’s time to get my head out of the sand and learn about CWD and what I can do about it.
Cait Nelson joins me on the podcast to discuss the critical issue of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) affecting wildlife, particularly in British Columbia. Cait, a Wildlife Health Biologist, explains the nature of CWD, its transmission, and the implications for the hunting community. Cait walks us through the recent detection of CWD in BC, management strategies to control its spread, and the vital role hunters play in surveillance and prevention efforts. The conversation emphasizes the importance of community involvement and proactive measures to ensure the health of wildlife populations and the sustainability of hunting practices.
