Market Haul!
Your workout is important but don’t underestimate the power of movement throughout the day. If possible, Increase it and vary it.
-If you can, walk to the market, cafe, office.
-Hang your laundry (gives your shoulder some healthy movement).
-If you’re walking upstairs, don’t load yourself down, instead, make a couple of trips.
-Park further away.
-Carry stuff. Sometimes heavy stuff. It’s loading for your bones and muscles.
That may look like walking to the market for groceries or hiking with a bit of a load in your knapsack.
-Get off the train or bus a stop before.
And don’t forget to sit on the floor!
Even if it’s just for 5-10 minutes. It allows your body to be in postures and positions that you miss when standing and sitting in chairs. If you’re sitting with your legs crossed, you’re opening your tight hips. Sitting with your legs outstretched is nice on your knees and great for your hamstrings.
More importantly, the floor isn’t as comfortable as the couch so you’re shifting and changing positions every little while. Voila, you’re varying your movement.
Our bodies need variety and like to be challenged to maintain mobility.

I do miss living by the lake but the sky here is insane! It’s dynamic and dramatic and well, BIG. I guess that’s why it’s “Land of the living skies”.
And the light can rival the south of France.

This magical forest in the middle of the city is just a deep, peaceful exhale. No kidding, it really makes me breathe easy and I come very close to feelings of pure joy.
It goes on forever and there is just something special about it…at least that’s what my heart tells me.
I can’t help but think one of the many reasons we have such a lack of connection and such profound greed from all of these tech bros, billionaires and politicians (I am aware these categories are rapidly overlapping) is the
total disregard for the natural world around them.
Unless it’s a golf course (and don’t get me started on that) most of them never lace up and go for a walk or a hike. They just r**e and piledge the world around them with total disregard for life…well, any life other than their’s.
If it ever catches up to them and there is any justice, forget prison cells, hold them captive in the middle of a forest alone….but not my forest. 😇 😈

Want to become fitter, stronger, have more energy…
The key to getting there is consistency. Repeating the same thing every week (adding variety of course) until three months from now, we see change! I think this is the most important rule in fitness.
Self care is really about taking action to ensure your body, mind and spirit are being cared for. And self care is often about hard work and doing things that aren’t comfortable or fun. That’s not to say that some days you may just need a cup of tea and a hug but then you get back to it.
No grand gestures, just consistent small steps towards the changes you’d like to see.
Time will pass anyway so where will you be three months from now?

Don’t forget to stop and look up.
Pause.
Take it in.
Exhale and relax your shoulders down.
I can’t think of anything more important.

I absolutely adore all of the garden treasures. Best time of the year. Lemon basil and the best tomatoes I’ve ever had…all on a smidge of goat cheese.

I opened my studio door to find this!
This morning I locked my pup out of the workout studio (she’s shedding like crazy) and heard her crying at the door.
I guess she’s explored her legal rights as an employee and is now taking it to the streets. 🪧
I think Sam has been whispering in her ear.

Lots of lifting of heavy things
Landscaping a yard that has three shady, massive spruce trees that drop needles and cones. Next year the ground cover and plants will make it even better. May add a water feature.

It’s chevre like cheese that tastes INCREDIBLE! I anticipate a lot of eye rolls 🙄 🤭 😊 when I say it’s made from tofu, herbs and spices. Simple to make and loaded with protein.
I have a hard time with dairy and never substitute but this is next level. Tastes like cheese and same smooth texture.
