Everyone talks about “losing the baby weight”.
But no one talks about the contradictions that go along with that.

I should go to the gym…but I also want to spend every minute I can with my daughter.

I want to lose weight….but I also need to fuel my body to breastfeed.

I want to meal prep….but I also need to work, and clean the house, and fold laundry, and take care of my baby.

I want to prioritize myself…but I feel guilty every time that I do.

No wonder postpartum feels so hard.

It isn’t just about losing the baby weight.
It’s about gaining yourself, and raising someone else in the process.

The weight may be harder to lose. The progress pictures may come from the only full length mirror in the house (in the nursery…)
But there are so many other wins that the scale just can’t measure ❤️

This post isn’t about how lifting won’t make you bulky, or how nutrition is just as important as the workouts.

It’s about those thoughts we all have as women walking into an intimidating gym environment.
Are people staring at me?
Is there room for me here?
Am I doing enough?

But here’s the thing…
Every woman thinks they are the only one who’s nervous, insecure, or intimidated.

You’re not.

Every single confident woman who is in your gym, was once a beginner wondering if she belonged.
But regardless of the judgement she felt (mostly from herself)…
She kept showing up.

Not trying to be a different person.

Just trying to be a better version of the person I love right now.

Things I wish I had known about getting back into fitness postpartum:

😵‍💫 progress feels slower than you want it to
💤 sleep matters more than ever
😬 some workouts feel amazing. Others….won’t
👙 “bouncing back” looks different for everyone. And you need to be realistic about what it looks like for YOU!

And most importantly
✨ consistency still is key - even if it looks different.

Looking to get back into it? I am taking new clients! Message me for details ❤️

No one talks enough about how disorienting big life transitions can feel 😵‍💫

This last year has brought
Marriage
A new baby
A big move
Postpartum
Building my business through all of this

And for a while I felt like I wasn’t thriving - but simply surviving.

But finally, for the first time in a while, I feel like I’m finally finding my footing again.

Not in some dramatic “I have it all together” kind of way.

Just in a “I’m finally beginning to enjoy life and the direction it’s heading” kind of way.

And honestly? I’m so excited for what comes next ❤️

If I’m being honest, I thought getting back into fitness after having a baby would feel more natural for me.

But this season has been humbling.

There has been no “bounce back”.
No real routine.
No feeling like myself.

My body, energy and life is all different. And I definitely am feeling it when it comes to confidence in myself.

If I’m being truly honest with myself, I think I’ve been putting pressure on myself to “bounce back” faster than I realistically can.

So right now I’m trying to focus less on where I used to be,
And more on showing up where I’m at.

Take time to be proud of yourself.
It moments where it’s hard.
In times when it’s messy.
On days where you feel like you’re just going through the motions.

The unseen battles. The mental load. The daily pressures. They add up. And while they may be fought behind the scenes, that doesn’t make them any less real.

I’ve been a bit quieter on here this past week.

Life happened, and energy felt off.
But one thing I’ve learned is that I don’t need the perfect reset.

I just keep going.

No big comeback. Just consistency.

Consistency is the personality trait now 🔥
