⛸️💚 MEET OUR HESC COACHING TEAM!

With a new skating season just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce the amazing coaches who will be helping our skaters learn, grow and build confidence on the ice this year!

⭐ Kacelynne Manipula
Kacelynne brings 10 years of figure skating experience in both singles and ice dance. During her competitive years, she achieved Gold Dance, Gold Skills and Junior Silver Freeskate and represented Skate Ontario at Canadians in ice dance.

⭐ Jessica Teeter
With 27 years of coaching experience, Jessica is nationally trained and certified in CanSkate and CanPower. She brings a wealth of skating and teaching experience to HESC and a passion for helping skaters of every level succeed.

⭐ Jocelyn Coleman
Jocelyn is a regionally trained, PowerSkate and CanSkate certified coach who began her coaching journey as a Program Assistant. She loves creating a positive and supportive environment where skaters can develop new skills, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun on the ice!

From those very first wobbly steps on the ice to mastering new skills and reaching personal goals, our coaches are there to encourage, challenge and celebrate our skaters along the way. 💚

💥 NEW PROGRAM ALERT

What is Pre-Power?

The Pre-Power (or Pre-Power CanSkate) program is a high-energy transitional course designed for young or developing skaters who have basic skating fundamentals but are not yet ready for a full, advanced PowerSkate curriculum.

It bridges the gap between standard learn-to-skate lessons and sport-specific hockey or ringette training.
Program Focus & Skills

🥅 Core ABCs – Agility, Balance & Control
Skaters will develop their agility, balance and control in a hockey or ringette-oriented environment.
🏒 Progressive Drills
Skaters will work on forward and backward movement, stopping, quick turns and foundational edge control.
⚡ Fast-Paced Learning
Sessions feature action-packed, fast-moving conditioning and technique drills designed to build early endurance while keeping skaters engaged and moving.

This is a great opportunity for your skater to build confidence, improve their skating fundamentals and prepare for the next stage of their skating journey.

We’re excited to welcome your skater to Pre-Power and look forward to seeing them take their skills to the next level!

📌 Participants must have hockey skates, gloves, stick and helmet. Full equipment is optional.
📌 Program is offered on Mondays and Saturdays.

Our Wednesday CanSkate session is officially FULL! 🎉

But don’t worry, there’s still time to get your skater on the ice! We still have spaces available in our Monday and Saturday CanSkate sessions. ❤️

CanSkate is Canada’s learn-to-skate program, designed to help skaters build confidence, balance and the fundamental skills they need on the ice, all while having FUN!
