Listen up - especially if you’ve ever noticed you feel so different when you’re on vacation!

Of course ! But pay attention to who you become when you step outside your usual routine.

Maybe you sleep better.
Laugh more easily.
Take your time.
Notice what’s around you.
Get curious again.
Remember the things you enjoy that have nothing to do with your responsibilities.

It’s easy to dismiss that as your “vacation self.”

But maybe it’s simply a version of you that gets more room to breathe.

So the next time you’re away don’t just take photos.

Take notes.

What are you doing differently?
What are you making time for?
What parts of yourself are showing up again?

Because your vacation might not be showing you who you are when you escape your life - it might also be showing you more of who you are when you actually make room for yourself.

The most important piece of advice I can give you:
Don’t wait until your life becomes unbearable to admit it no longer fits.

You don’t need a crisis to justify a change.

You don’t need to be miserable to want something different and you don’t need anyone else to agree that you’ve outgrown the life you once worked so hard to build.

When I lost my corporate role, I immediately started interviewing for another one but before every interview, I felt physically ill.

I told myself I needed more clarity.

The truth was I already knew.

I didn’t really want to return to the life I had known for so many years prior. I was tired, burned out and I had just simply had enough. With that said , I was very afraid to trust what the quiet voice inside was telling me.
Sometime, the decision isn’t unclear. It’s just asking you to become someone you haven’t been before.

Listen to the quiet voice. She may already know the way.

Women’s leadership is changing and AI is part of the conversation.

I loved creating this space for women to think bigger about how they lead, how they use their voice and who they are becoming in a world that is constantly being reshaped by AI.

This is the work I’m here to do. Much more work ahead!

You’re not confused about what to do.
You’re afraid of what happens after you do it because once you make the decision, you might disappoint someone.

You might have to explain yourself.

You might lose the approval you’ve worked so hard to earn.

You might actually succeed and then have to become visible in a whole new way.

So you keep thinking.

You call it needing more clarity.
You make another list.
You wait for a sign.
You ask five more people what they think.

But sometimes, you already know. Your intuition knows.

The uncomfortable part isn’t the decision. It’s accepting that the decision will change something and that not everyone will understand the version of you who comes next.

You don’t need more time to figure it out.

You need to trust yourself enough to handle what happens after you do it.

Confidence did not get me on that first stage. Repetition got me to the next one.

You don’t become ready and then begin. You begin nervous, imperfect, and uncertain, and every rep after that gives you evidence that you can do it again.

The first attempt is not supposed to look like the hundredth but there is no hundredth without a first.

My photo shoot this week wasn’t about becoming someone new. It was about capturing the woman I can feel myself becoming - bolder, more free, more visible and even more fully myself.

We’re often so busy reaching for what’s next that we forget to notice what has already changed within us.

Pause occasionally. Look at yourself properly. Mark the moment.

You don’t need to wait for a major milestone to celebrate your evolution.

Sometimes realizing“I’m not who I used to be “ is milestone enough.

I’ve only received a couple of photos so far and already I can see it and I hope you do too.

Last week, I spoke about leading in the age of AI on behalf of Women in Communications and Technology and The Globe and Mail.

It was a dream come true.

I was on that stage - yes, but moreso I was speaking at the intersection of everything I care about: leadership, women, identity, courage, and the future of work.

AI is changing how we work but the bigger question is, how will we lead through that change and whether women will have an equal voice in shaping what comes next.

I have spent 28 years thinking about people, leadership and what helps us rise. To bring that experience into this conversation, in this room, at this moment in my life, felt deeply significant.

There are moments when you realize the things you once imagined are no longer somewhere in the distance.

You are living Them. This was one of mine.

Things are changing.
