Our U18 Boys fought extremely hard in a provincial final that went all the way to pk’s, and earned a silver medal in their final youth soccer career game. It was an especially emotional day for Coach Brandon, who had coached some of these kids and seen them grow up for the last 12 years of their lives. Swipe through the photos to read his message below: ➡️
To all of our parents,
As I sit here trying to find the right words, I honestly don’t know where to begin.
The pain of losing a final in a penalty shootout is real. It’s heartbreaking because we came so close. But as difficult as today feels, I’ve realized this letter isn’t really about the final. It’s about everything that came before it.
For more than ten years, I’ve had the privilege of watching your boys grow up.
I still remember many of them as little kids who could barely tie their boots, who would chase the ball in every direction, laugh at the smallest things, and dream about playing in big games one day. Today, they’re young men. Somewhere along the way, the years disappeared.
When I walk onto Hjorth now, it’s going to feel different.
For nearly a decade, that field has been more than just the turf and goalposts. It’s been where we’ve celebrated wins, picked each other up after losses, laughed until practice ended, pushed through difficult sessions, and created memories that will stay with me forever. Walking onto that field without hearing their voices, seeing their faces, or watching them mess around before training is going to leave a space that can’t be replaced.
People often thank coaches for what they do for their players. But the truth is, these boys have done just as much for me.
They made me a better coach.
More importantly, they made me a better man and now a new father.
They taught me patience, resilience, compassion, accountability, and what it truly means to care about people beyond the game. They challenged me to grow every single year, and because of them, I leave this chapter as a different person than the one who started this journey years ago.
To every parent, thank you.
Thank you for trusting me with your sons.
Thank you for the rides to training, the early mornings, t

From the first whistle to the final one. ❤️💙
This isn’t just a Provincial Final. It’s the closing chapter of a special group.
These players made history as the very first team to represent North Surrey Mustangs when the club was founded. They helped lay the foundation, set the standard, and built a legacy that future generations will follow.
Now, one final match awaits.
For many of these boys, this is the last game of youth soccer before they begin the next chapter - college, university, work, senior soccer, and whatever comes beyond. No matter the result, they’ve already left an incredible mark on this club.
One last game. One last chance to wear the badge together.
Let’s finish where this journey deserves to end. 🏆
❤️💙
