Any community members interested in working with our Spartan Athletes this schoolyear are asked to please e-mail [email protected].
As usual, we hope to offer soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf, cross country, badminton and flag football for students in grades 7-12. We also have a small group interested in some powerlifting though we have not competed for several years. As a small school, we do as much as we can and we cannot do it without the help of our volunteer coaches. Thank you!

Aidan Campbell won a silver medal yesterday competing for Team PEI at the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships! Congratulations, Aidan! Way to make PEI proud!

An incredible Spartan left us this month and we want to share our love and support to all in her life. A little story about the amazing Jenna Croucher ( #17). Jenna was the middle in our very strong volleyball team. She loved playing with her friends and her sister, Lesley. She brought joy, energy and constant encouragemen to the court. During one particular home game, an opponent injured her hand. Jenna was most concerned. She felt the opposing coach was not doing enough to check on that hand and was most verbal in fact going so far as to say we should just lose so the opponent could tend to the injury properly. That was Jenna, there was no question she was going to be a paramedic- she cared about everyone and always saw the big picture ♥
The following morning, Jenna appeared in the PE office with a strongly worded letter she wanted submitted to the opposing team. The letter was not intended to cause offence or complain, it was to encourage player safety ahead of all else. She wanted the other coaches to know each player was a human with feelings and sportsmanship must include stopping to check injuries properly. The letter was well received and opened the door to a positive conversation about not just going through the motions, but to take the time and do things right, to care and to appreciate.
Thank you Jenna. You have certainly left your mark.

Souris Regional would like to congratulate Bethany MacPhee who was our nominee for the PEISAA Brodie McCarthy Award. Bethany will be graduating tomorrow evening and was the ideal selection for us. As a student, Bethany is most diligent and dedicated to the educational process. She has been achieving top marks yearly and will be attending the nursing program at St.FX this fall. As an athlete, Bethany is captain of the senior women's soccer, basketball and flag football team. She is determined, patient and well organized and always shows up for her peers with a smile and work ethic. On the field and court, and as Student Council President, Bethany has consistenly represented the Spartans with pride. Congratulations, Bethany.
