We wrapped up the season yesterday in Frankford, finishing as bronze medallists in the Central East Women’s Fastpitch League championships. It was an incredible season that surpassed our expectations.

Thanks to all who helped make it possible.

Wednesday night, the Thunder capped off the regular season with a 16-1 win in Belleville.

Austyn McIntyre pitched an exceptional complete game, allowing just four hits with four strikeouts and walking none. The defense was solid, allowing for quick innings and ensuring the Lady Flyers couldn't get any momentum.

Patience at the plate paid off, as we collected a remarkable 18 walks. Ella Dawson and Rowan Kruk led the way with three walks each.

We tallied nine hits in the game. Samantha Westlake hit her first home run. Austyn and Holly Chester each collected two hits, with Austyn leading the way with three RBI.

The season wraps up this weekend with the league championship in Frankford.

Not the results we were hoping for, but plenty of positives to take away from our trip to Provincials in Stratford this weekend.

After finishing 0-3 in group play, we found ourselves as the #10 seed in C pool, facing #11 seed Leamington Whitecaps.

After getting behind 7-2 early on, the girls dug deep, rallying to win 14-12.

The comeback was sparked by an incredible two run homer from Kyla McMillan, who drove in five on three hits over the course of the game.

Ella Dawson and Holly Chester added home runs of their own before Addison Orpwood flipped the game on its head in the sixth inning, with a three run shot that gave us a 14-11 lead.

Samantha Westlake had four hits in four at bats, while Holly, Bella McCue and Hayley Evans all had multiple hits.

Despite the high score, we made several tremendous defensive plays at key moments, particularly late in the game when we had taken the lead.

We fell to Tavistock A’s this morning 12-4 to end our weekend. Despite the result, the Thunder maintained their energy and effort throughout.

Next action is Tuesday night at East City Bowl when we host Frankford in an effort to remain undefeated in regular season play.

Last night was a nail-biter, but we held on to defeat Havelock 13-12 and remain undefeated in regular season play.

Our offensive outburst was led by Holly Chester, who was 3-for-3 at the plate, collecting a double and two triples.

Holly, Bella McCue, Samantha Westlake and Addison Orpwood each had multiple RBI. Rowan Kruk walked three times in three appearances at the plate.

Ella Dawson started in the circle, collecting four strike outs.

Players were called upon to play in different positions with a unique defensive alignment. They comported themselves well, making key outs in important moments. Rowan stood out at shortstop, making difficult catches late in the game.

Next action is tomorrow night at 8:30pm when we host the Cobourg Angels U19 team at East City Bowl.

The Thunder rolled into Cobourg last night, downing the U19 Angels by a score of 9-4 - despite having just nine players available.

Bella McCue had an incredible night, going 3 for 4 at the plate and pitching a complete game gem. She was assisted by solid defense, keeping her pitch count down and resulting in quick innings.

Austyn McIntyre and Madi Sheehan were a one-two punch in the lineup as they each drove in two runs.

Kyla McMillan and Samantha Westlake each had multiple hits, while Hayley Evans and Rowan Kruk's patience at the plate resulted in two walks each.

Bella, Addison Orpwood, Kyla and Rowan each stole multiple bases.

The Thunder will look to remain undefeated in regular season play as we welcome the Belleville Lady Flyers on Thursday at 8:30pm at East City Bowl

Thanks to our friends from the Whitby Eagles (Hughes) for hosting us at the spectacular Babcock Field at Durham College Friday night! We hung on to win 8-7 in a back and forth battle that was punctuated with double plays, home runs and rain delays. Good luck as you prepare to travel to the U.S. later this month!
