Petawawa FC 1 - 0 Grit FC

The undefeated train keeps steaming along. It wasn't the prettiest journey this week, but nobody remembers whether the train looked good—they just remember it arrived with another three points.

Petawawa FC edged past Grit FC 1–0 in a hard-fought contest, with Carter Obasohan grabbing what proved to be the winning goal. It wasn't one for the highlight reels—unless you're particularly fond of scrappy finishes—but they all count the same.

The scoreline, however, didn't tell the full story.

Despite an injury list that now resembles a full starting XI, Petawawa created the better chances throughout the match. On another day, the game could have been comfortably out of sight, but Grit FC's goalkeeper had other ideas, producing a string of outstanding saves to keep his side in the contest right until the final whistle.

With Bruno Ferreira serving a suspension, somebody had to assume responsibility for attempting the occasional optimistic effort from 35-plus yards. Alan MacDonald stepped into the role admirably, proving that while some people measure distance in metres, others measure it in "worth a go."

Up front, Richie MacKay put in a tireless shift as the target man. He held the ball up brilliantly, brought teammates into play, and won enough fouls to keep the opposition honest. A fair few of them, however, were not called by the referee, leaving Richie to wonder if he'd accidentally signed up for rugby instead.

Adam Walsh also deserves a special mention. Clearly inspired to replace Darian, Adam made a series of intelligent runs in behind the defence and came agonisingly close to getting on the scoresheet. On another evening, he'd have walked away with a goal to match an excellent performance.

At the other end, the defence and goalkeeper quietly went about their business with another superb display. Organised, disciplined, and determined, they secured yet another clean sheet and ensured Carter's goal was enough to collect all three points.

This season has thrown plenty of challenges at Petawawa FC. Injuries, suspensions, missing players—you name it. But every week someone else steps up, everyone works for each other, and the team finds a way.

That's why this group remains undefeated.

Petawawa FC 3 - 2 Valley FC

After a lengthy break from league action, Petawawa FC returned to the pitch looking a little like an old diesel engine on a cold Canadian morning—slightly rusty, a little slow to get going, and wondering where the "match fitness" had gone. Thankfully, once everyone got moving, normal service resumed.

Petawawa FC defeated Valley FC 3–2 to maintain their unbeaten record and strengthen their grip at the top of the table. Better still, the team sits in first place with two games in hand. The undefeated train is still gathering speed.

The match wasn't without its challenges. Valley FC found the net twice through a couple of fortunate goals, but Petawawa responded with three excellently worked team goals that reflected the quality of football the squad has been producing all season.

Darian Blanchard opened the scoring, Carter Obasohan continued his excellent campaign with another goal, and Jerid Klassen got on the scoresheet to seal another important victory. Once again, the squad showed the teamwork, determination and togetherness that has defined this season. When the game needed winning, everyone pulled in the same direction.

A warm welcome also goes to Petawawa FC's three debutants - Luc, Sean and Ahmed, who all settled in brilliantly. A special mention goes to Petawawa Kia's very own Ahmed Dhouhi, who made his first appearance for the club.

Unfortunately, the night was overshadowed by a nasty injury to Darian. Everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery, and we hope to see him back on the pitch again very soon.

Three more points. Still undefeated. Top of the league. Two games in hand.
