🏀 What an incredible day of basketball in Outlook! 🏀
On July 28, OBA proudly hosted the Future Huskies Basketball Camp, featuring four players from the University of Saskatchewan Women's Huskies Basketball team who shared their skills, knowledge, and passion for the game with local athletes.
The camp included two sessions for Grades 3-6, one Grades 7-8 session, and a Grades 9-12 session. We were thrilled to welcome over 60 young athletes from Outlook and surrounding communities for a fun-filled day of learning, competition, and inspiration!
A huge thank you to the Huskies players for their outstanding leadership and for the valuable lessons they passed on to these young basketball players. The energy and enthusiasm they brought to the court made the day unforgettable.
We're also incredibly grateful to all the athletes who attended and gave their all throughout the camp. Your hard work and positive attitudes made the event a tremendous success.
Special thanks to Sheena Shepherd and Kim Stephenson for their hard work and dedication in organizing this fantastic event.

🏀 OBA SEASON RECAP: OHS JUNIOR BASKETBALL

The OHS Jr. Basketball team had a fantastic 2025-26 season. We had a large group this year with over 20 kids signing up to play, some returning for their last season in Grade 9 and a few who were trying it for the first time.

Some of the more memorable highlights from the season would be winning the Davidson tournament, winning both of our games at the Delisle double header, and earning a hard-fought second-place finish at the West Central Basketball playoffs.

Regardless of how we did, being able to see the older players mentor the younger ones and how they feed off each other in practice was one of the best things to see as a coach. It will be exciting to see where the program goes from here.

The LCBI Senior Girls Basketball team experienced a season marked by both success and adversity. Early challenges with multiple injuries proved to be a blessing in disguise, creating opportunities for three athletes new to basketball to step into key roles. Through this, they developed quickly, gained confidence, and discovered a passion for the game.

As the season progressed, the team showed tremendous growth and resilience. They captured the Conference Championship and entered the Regional Tournament ranked 7th, where they delivered an impressive performance—leading for most of the game and narrowly falling to the eventual 2nd place team by just five points.

A major highlight of the season was being invited to The Rock Invitational Tournament, widely recognized as one of the top high school basketball tournaments in the province—an opportunity that reflected the team’s growth and competitiveness.

Throughout the season, the Lady Bisons also earned strong tournament results, including two consolation championships, one silver medal finish, and one bronze.

With the majority of the roster made up of Grade 10 athletes, the future is incredibly bright for the Lady Bisons basketball program.
