We are proud to announce Coach Alex Vidoni is coming back as Head Coach of our 2021 Young Spartans for the upcoming season.

Coach Alex is coming off an incredible year leading our 2017 Tier 1 Spartans to a 33-17-4 record and was recently made Head Coach of Pro Hockey Development - Ottawa’s all star roster of 2017 born players from across Eastern, Ontario.

With deep roots in the Ottawa hockey community, Alex brings a strong foundation of leadership, energy, and passion for development. Now, he takes on a new challenge — helping shape the very beginning of the Spartans journey.

We are proud to announce Coach Jared Hebbs as Head Coach of our 2020 Ottawa Spartans for the 2025/26 KSL season.

With over 30 years of coaching and player development experience, Coach Hebbs is one of the most respected skill development minds in the region. As the driving force behind Hebbs High Performance Hockey, he has helped shape athletes at every level.

From grassroots to elite, Coach Hebbs has built a reputation for developing confident, skilled, and competitive players — and now he brings that same standard to the Spartans.

This is a big one.

We are proud to announce that Coach Kyle Larsen is returning as Head Coach of our 2019 Ottawa Spartans for the 2026/27 KSL season.

In his first year behind the bench, Coach Kyle delivered:

OTTAWA SPARTANS ANNOUNCE NEW 2018 HEAD COACH FOR THE 2026/27 KSL SEASON

The Ottawa Spartans are proud to announce Steve Bennett as Head Coach of the 2018 Ottawa Spartans for the 2026/27 KSL season.

On the bench, Steve brings an incredible track record of developing elite players and building winning teams. From leading his Nepean Raiders to a HEO playoff championship with Hockey Canada to serving as the Head Coach of the Elite Toronto Pro Hockey Development team at the World Selects Invitational in Prague, Steve has seen it all.

Off the bench, Steve has served as a Senior Hockey Advisor for Pro Hockey Development in Toronto building elite teams that compete around the world and brings with him an incredible network of connections across Ontario, Canada and internationally. He plans to use this network to open new doors and opportunities for Spartans players as they grow within the sport.

As if this wasn’t enough, what makes Steve especially valuable to our program is his deep understanding of this exact age group. As both a coach and a parent who has navigated the elite development pathway firsthand, he knows what it takes to develop young players at this stage — including the path toward major events like the Brick Invitational Tournament and beyond.

As a hockey parent himself to three sons who have each progressed along the elite development pathway. Their accomplishments include participation in the Brick Tournament, a 1st round selection in the 2025 OHL Priority Draft, participation in the 2026 OHL U16 Top Prospects Showcase, and a CCHL debut in 2026.

Supporting the development of a defenceman, forward, and goaltender in his household has given Steve a unique and well-rounded perspective on player development across all positions.

With Steve leading the bench and a strong staff around him, the Ottawa Spartans 2018s are going to be a problem in the KSL and beyond next season.

For our youngest athletes, it starts with KLEVR KUBS.

Designed for U5 & U6 players, this program introduces young Spartans to skating, puck skills, teamwork, and confidence in a fun, high-energy environment. It’s the first step in the Ottawa Spartans development pathway and where the love of the game begins.

If your young athlete is ready to hit the ice and start their hockey journey, we’d love to see them out.
