The Smiths Falls Rideaus are excited to announce the signing of defenceman Corey Tam from the Manotick Mariners!

Corey was a key piece of the Mariners’ championship run last season, serving as Assistant Captain and helping lead Manotick to the NPHL title. Bringing leadership, experience, and a team-first mentality, Corey knows what it takes to win.

A hard-nosed, reliable defenceman, Corey plays a strong defensive game, competes hard in every zone, and will be a huge asset to our blue line this season.

🚨🐝 BIG-TIME ADDITION TO THE HIVE — MATTHEW PHILIP IS A KILLER BEE! 🐝🚨

The Alvinston Killer Bees are extremely excited to announce the signing of Ilderton, Ontario native Matthew Philip for the 2026–27 season!

This is a big one, Bees fans.

Philip arrives in Alvinston straight from the professional ranks, spending last season overseas with Cergy-Pontoise in France’s top professional league, Ligue Magnus, after previously suiting up for the Maine Mariners of the ECHL.

And before turning pro? Philip built one heck of a hockey résumé.

A four-year OHL veteran, Philip played 227 games between the Niagara IceDogs and Owen Sound Attack, recording an incredibly balanced 59 goals and 59 assists for 118 points.

But his impact went well beyond the scoresheet.

In his final OHL season, Philip was named an alternate captain of the Owen Sound Attack, wearing the “A” on the road and becoming an important member of the Attack leadership group.

He responded with a career-best 19 goals in just 48 games — and earned both the Attack’s Dave McComb Memorial Award for Leadership & Perseverance and the Helen Lewis Players’ Choice Award, voted on by his teammates.

Following his OHL career, Philip joined one of the premier university hockey programs in the country at St. Francis Xavier University, where he continued to produce against elite U SPORTS competition before making the jump to professional hockey.

Now, he’s coming home to Southwestern Ontario.
