Women & Tennis in Canada: Tennis became so popular due to the social nature of the game as one of the first sports where women and men played and socialized together. It was also one of the first active outdoor sports quickly attracting women’s participation by playing their own game, with the same rules as men. This created an explosion of female participants.

A tribute in memoriam of our tennis great era! With the recent sad news about Jim Loehr, it is amazing to see the positive feedback, messages and heartfelt feelings on the passing of such well appreciated and outstanding leader, friend of so many people in our lifetime!
I had the priviledge to share on court playing and laughing on a wonderful & very rare occasion together with not just Jim Loehr but also another giant (literally) of our tennis era, the late Dennis Van der Meer, in one of his last on court playing appearences. So here are two great giants of tennis with yours truly little guy after a great hit and funny moments at VdM Tennis, Hilton Head SC. Dennis Van der Meer was actually coaching Jim Loehr what to do! ... c'mon Jim, hussle, hurry up, get it! And when it was my turn to hit, they really hustled me side to side! Good thing my mantra was always "size is no document its the character that matters"! and "If you can't be the biggest, you sure can be amongst the best!"
